Position Summary
Assists the Director of Community Programming with administrative operations and supports the planning, coordination, and supervision of department programs, activities, and events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with daily administrative operations, including monthly and yearly reports.
Support the Boomer and Reckin’ in the Park Mobile Program.
Receive, track, and compile multiple reports and forms related to department operations.
Help produce and disseminate printed and electronic marketing materials.
Research, prepare, and submit administrative reports as requested.
Assist with department events and program implementation.
Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate activities, programs, and events.
Maintain organization and office operations.
Oversee setup and use of specialized software for online program/event registration, customer relationship management, and data tracking/reporting.
Update and maintain webpages on the department’s website.
Assist with marketing of divisional activities, programs, and events.
Non‑Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent education required.
At least two years of administrative support experience in a high‑paced office environment required.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
Knowledge of current youth program planning practices.
Knowledge of basic business management and financial accounting methods.
Ability to deal effectively with the public, both individuals and agencies.
Ability to administer and coordinate programs, and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Working knowledge of programming activities related to diverse groups.
Ability to supervise and coordinate work activities of personnel, including staff training and assigning duties.
Creative thinking and design skills for appropriate programming development.
Certificates, License, Registration
Valid driver’s license required (or ability to obtain one).
Equipment
Desktop and laptop computers, calculator, telephone, copier, facsimile machine, automobile, and recreational equipment.
Physical Demands
Requires frequent standing, sitting, walking, and handling of objects. Occasionally required to lift or move up to 20 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Work performed in an office setting or in the field with moderate indoor or outdoor temperatures. Noise level is usually quiet to moderate in the office and moderately loud in the field. The entire facility is smoke free.
