Working within a pod, Senior Digital Strategists provide advanced support to client email programs, as well as some basic client leadership. This job is an opportunity to learn how to manage client email programs, and to hone more advanced skills in the area of email copywriting and creative development, production, reporting, and client management. Senior Digital Strategists typically report to Managing Digital Strategists.

Job is a part of the bargaining unit.

Job Responsibilities

Oversee the email content creation process

Write content for emails and landing pages with little supervision.

Delegate writing to junior podmates and provide guidance on their work.

Ensure email content aligns with client voices and best practices.

Apply effective theories of change in creative work and ensure teammates use them.

Oversee the content review, revision, editing, and approval process

Collaborate with podmates and clients for content review and approval.

Delegate process to junior podmates and provide guidance.

Oversee the email production process

Code, produce, target, and launch emails with minimal supervision.

Delegate production to junior podmates and provide guidance.

Leverage intermediate HTML, CSS, and SQL knowledge.

Apply intermediate CRM knowledge and contribute testing ideas and methodologies.

Oversee the email reporting process

Pull, read, interpret, and present email performance metrics.Delegate reporting to junior podmates and provide guidance.

Set up donation forms and other landing pages with little supervision.

Leverage advanced landing page functionalities such as setting up and updating ActBlue Express.

Participate in brainstorms and internal team meetings.

Attend and contribute to client meetings with little supervision and own parts of client meetings.

Contribute ideas to email content calendars and help build and update them.

Review peer work for accuracy, functionality, and best practices, including proofing test emails.

Assist in onboarding new clients, standing up new CRM and ActBlue instances.

Contribute to new business proposals.

Project manage client work with little supervision.

Other responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications

2+ years of relevant experience in email fundraising or similar.

Mastery of 3+ common CRMs or fundraising platforms (ActionKit, ActBlue, ActionNetwork, EveryAction, etc.).

Mastery of email writing for fundraising.

Proficiency in HTML and CSS for major email programs.

Ability to manage large clients independently.

Creative writing skills.

Enthusiasm for data and testing in fundraising content.

Desire to play a role in fundraising for major political campaigns, nonprofits, and causes.

Attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

Agency or campaign experience.

Experience working in email and digital strategy.

Knowledge of different CRMs (Action Kit, BSD, Action Network, NGP, etc.).
