Duties

Help

Serve as Chief, Technical Requirements Branch.
Plan, manage, and direct the development, preparation, validation, verification and publication of Equipment Technical Publications (ETPs).
Support for, and operation of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and Test Program Sets (TPs) necessary for accomplishment of the depot's maintenance mission.
Provide logistic support, technical guidance, problem solving and assistance to shop personal in all issues relating to maintenance production.
Plan, organize, and develop procedures for projects in support of the maintenance mission and in support of higher command special projects (such as depot studies, Log demo, etc.).
Exercise the full range of supervisor duties.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
This position requires a successfully completion of the Civilian Education System Course and the Supervisory Development Course within 12 months in the position.
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
Position may be converted to permanent without further competition.
Temporary promotion may be made permanent or extended up to a maximum of five years.
Temporary appointments may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years.
Time Limited Detail NTE may be made permanent or extended at management discretion.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Interpreting engineering blueprints for technical publications; 2) analyzing research data to support subject-matter specialists; and 3) preparing equipment manuals for tactical vehicles. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
