Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Audio System Engineer to support the development and delivery of Video Conferencing and Smart Camera products. This role will focus on audio system architecture, microphone and speaker integration, audio tuning, voice quality optimization, acoustic debugging, and customer issue resolution.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with embedded audio systems, microphone arrays, speaker systems, audio DSP, echo cancellation, noise suppression, beamforming, and real-time audio performance optimization. Experience with conferencing devices, smart cameras, Android/Linux audio frameworks, or Qualcomm audio platforms is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Audio System Design and Integration
Support audio architecture design for video conferencing devices, smart cameras, and edge AI products.
Integrate microphones, speaker modules, amplifiers, codecs, DSPs, and audio interfaces.
Support audio signal path design from hardware input/output to OS, middleware, and application layers.
Work with hardware, mechanical, acoustic, and software teams to ensure high-quality audio performance.
Audio Algorithm and Tuning Support
Support tuning and validation of key audio features, including:
Acoustic Echo Cancellation, AEC
Noise Suppression, NS
Automatic Gain Control, AGC
Beamforming
Dereverberation
Voice Activity Detection, VAD
Full-duplex audio performance
Work with internal teams, chipset vendors, and third-party algorithm providers to optimize audio quality.
Analyze and improve voice clarity, echo performance, background noise handling, pickup distance, and speaker playback quality.
Platform and Framework Support
Support audio integration on embedded Linux and/or Android platforms.
Debug audio issues across codec, driver, HAL, DSP, middleware, and application layers.
Support interfaces such as I2S, TDM, PDM, PCM, USB audio, Bluetooth audio, and HDMI audio.
Analyze audio routing, latency, synchronization, sampling rate, clocking, and channel mapping issues.
Testing, Validation, and Customer Support
Define and execute audio test plans for conferencing and smart camera products.
Support objective and subjective audio quality evaluation.
Reproduce customer-reported audio issues and drive root cause analysis.
Prepare audio tuning reports, validation results, issue summaries, and technical recommendations.
Support customer demos, field trials, pilot builds, and production issue resolution.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Acoustic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Signal Processing, or related field.
5+ years of experience in audio system engineering, embedded audio, acoustic tuning, or audio DSP-related work.
Strong understanding of audio signal processing fundamentals.
Hands-on experience with microphone and speaker integration.
Experience with AEC, noise suppression, AGC, beamforming, or related voice processing technologies.
Familiarity with embedded audio software architecture on Linux and/or Android.
Strong debugging skills for audio routing, latency, distortion, clipping, echo, noise, and synchronization issues.
Experience using audio test tools, acoustic measurement tools, or audio analyzers.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with global engineering teams and customers.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with video conferencing products, smart cameras, conference bars, webcams, smart speakers, or voice-enabled devices.
Experience with Qualcomm audio platforms, Hexagon DSP, ADSP, Audio HAL, or related audio frameworks.
Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, or enterprise conferencing audio requirements.
Experience with multi-microphone arrays and far-field voice pickup.
Experience with acoustic chamber testing, POLQA, PESQ, STI, SNR, THD+N, frequency response, or similar audio metrics.
Experience working with third-party audio algorithm vendors.
Experience supporting EVT/DVT/PVT, manufacturing validation, and field issue debugging.

This person should be able to evaluate audio quality from both engineering and user-experience perspectives, identify root causes quickly, and drive improvements across hardware, software, acoustic design, and algorithm tuning.
