We are seeking an I&E Designer for a long-term 'onsite' assignment in Mont Belvieu TX.
The Instrumentation & Electrical Designer is responsible for supporting design and drafting activities for company projects, ensuring alignment with industry standards and company specifications. This role plays a critical part in developing engineering deliverables, coordinating project designs, and supporting efficient project execution from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage and support project design and drafting activities to ensure successful project execution in accordance with company standards and industry best practices.
Assign and maintain electrical equipment tags, instrument identification numbers, conduit, and cable numbering systems.
Prepare and update technical drawings, including:
Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
Equipment layouts and facility plot plans
Revise and maintain accurate record drawings and resolve drawing development issues.
Develop and maintain equipment, instrument, and material lists for construction projects.
Assist in preparing project scopes, including Engineering/Design and Construction Scopes of Work, for contract development.
Participate in project meetings to understand requirements, define scope, and provide technical design input.
Review project man-hour estimates and schedules to support efficient project delivery.
Coordinate distribution of design packages to stakeholders, ensuring collaboration and proper information flow.
Provide design and drafting support for both active and potential (preliminary) projects, including time- and budget-sensitive work.
Engage with vendors to obtain material pricing, availability, and technical information.
Perform material take-offs and develop parts lists to support procurement and scheduling.
Prepare material data sheets and generate material requisitions for project manager approval.
Maintain organized records of project documentation and technical correspondence.
Contribute to the development and upkeep of company standard drawings, specifications, and procedures.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, inspectors, and contractors on design, materials, and construction-related matters.
Support coordination of project logistics to ensure efficient and continuous progress.
Provide drafting support for ongoing operations and coordinate tasks with CADD personnel.
Mentor and guide team members to improve use of tools, processes, and technical resources.
Maintain technical expertise and stay current on design tools, standards, and technologies.
Travel to project sites as needed by air or automobile.
Qualifications:

Strong experience in instrumentation and electrical design within industrial or energy-related projects.
Proficiency in drafting and design tools (CADD systems).
In-depth knowledge of industry standards, codes, and best practices.
Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
Willingness and ability to travel as required.
