Typical Work Schedule: Varies, based on performances and technical rehearsals

Pay Rate: $60,000 - $65,000 DOE + full benefits

General Functions
This position is responsible for the overall use, inventory, and maintenance of ABT sound and video equipment. This position will supervise and participate in the Load-In, Strike, Technical Rehearsals, and Performances of all ABT productions and special events. Sound design duties will include all Main Stage, TYA, Academy, and Encore Series designs to be determined by the Producers.

Duties and Responsibilities
Design and Rehearsal Period

Attend Design and Production meetings and become familiar with the production concept

Maintain lines of communication with the Director

Maintain lines of communication with the Music Director

Organize and conduct the sound Load-In including staffing, setup of the orchestra pit, comm. system, cameras, singing stations and the cue light system

Coordinate with the Technical Director regarding all backstage needs such as speaker, microphone, and monitor placement

Attend and facilitate the Band rehearsals and Sitz Probe setup and rehearsal

Facilitate the needs of the orchestra regarding monitor and gear needs

Coordinate with the Costume Director regarding cast microphone placement and needs

Repair and/or have serviced necessary equipment for upcoming productions

Maintain supply and stock of all sound and video supplies

Maintain and update an inventory of all sound and video materials

Prepare all required paperwork including microphone assignments, cueing, and operator call book

Provide Stage Management and Director with all practical sound effects in rehearsal

Technical Rehearsals and Performances

Attend all technical rehearsals, previews and production meetings

Schedule and perform EQ sessions for the cast and orchestra

Facilitate the ongoing needs of the production throughout tech

Act as or assist the Sound Designer by facilitating their design and concept

Maintain all sound equipment to ensure a high-quality performance throughout the run of the production

Maintain all digital and written sound records of the productions

Facilitate all recording sessions including setup and strike of the recording station

Provide and set up rehearsal sound equipment including keyboards and playback, if needed

Instruct all cast members in the proper handling and wearing of body microphones

Provide quality sound signal to all facility monitors and hearing assist devices

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or 5 years of relevant work experience
