Content Specialist II (Digital Media/Content Specialist)
Rutgers Cancer Institute, Office of Communications.
We are seeking a Content Specialist II (Digital Media) to develop, maintain, and enhance the Rutgers Cancer Institute and ScreenNJ web sites, intranet and other digital communications. The role includes writing content, designing digital materials, managing web assets, monitoring metrics, and collaborating with IT and communications teams.
Responsibilities
Write content and identify graphics and design for Rutgers Cancer Institute and ScreenNJ websites.
Recommend, develop, and execute tactics and new web pages to increase website traffic and visitor engagement.
Design, write content and produce electronic publications such as Cancer Connection Monthly.
Ensure the website is user‑friendly, professional, and on par with other NCI‑designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers.
Manage the Constant Contact account for electronic publications and examine metrics to suggest optimization of timing, stories, and other factors to increase viewer engagement.
Ensure timely refresh of information on the websites and Rutgers Cancer Institute intranet.
Assist in planning and execution of video projects for use on the Rutgers Cancer Institute website, social media channels and other assets.
Collaborate with the IST team to update web content, ensuring all web and digital materials maintain accessibility standards and regulatory compliance.
Develop or provide templates and tools (for example newsletters, PowerPoint presentations) for use by faculty and staff.
Assist the Associate Director or Manager on the development of content for written marketing materials such as the annual report, strategic plan, and other pieces.
Develop, design and manage content for digital display screens within Rutgers Cancer Institute.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic arts, or a related field and at least three (3) years of relevant experience with website content management, web design tools, digital communications, or similar work.
Strong team and customer orientation.
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with content management systems; specific experience in Drupal, WordPress, and SharePoint strongly preferred.
Comfortable working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Bootstrap, and Adobe products such as Dreamweaver, Contribute, Photoshop, and InDesign.
Working knowledge of Constant Contact, SharePoint, Canva, Qualtrics, and video editing software such as Adobe Premiere.
Salary
Minimum: $68,147.00 | Mid: $81,720.00 | Maximum: $96,989.00

Full‑time position, 37.5 hours per week, fully on‑site work arrangement. Appointment term: Staff – 12 month.
