Social Media & Brand Intern

Simantel is seeking an enthusiastic and creative intern to work in‑person with our Brand Team at our Peoria, Illinois office during summer 2026. This internship provides a paid opportunity for students to gain hands‑on experience in social media content creation and brand marketing within a fast‑paced agency environment. Interns will collaborate with experienced professionals, contribute to real work that impacts the agency’s brand presence and build confidence in their creative and communication skills.

Because of our long‑term client relationships, our knowledge of B2B products and services runs deep. Responsibilities

Support the Brand Team in planning and producing engaging, authentic social media content that strengthens Simantel’s brand presence, highlights company culture and supports ongoing brand marketing initiatives

Capture and produce short‑form video content for social media platforms including Instagram and Facebook

Edit video content and write post captions optimized for engagement and platform performance

Design static graphics and carousel content for social media use on platforms including Instagram and LinkedIn

Photograph employee events, office culture moments and internal activities for brand storytelling purposes

Execute against a pre‑developed social media content calendar while maintaining attention to deadlines and priorities

Conduct competitor and social trend research to identify content opportunities and emerging best practices

Collaborate with team members to proactively source employees, stories and moments that support brand visibility and engagement

Support the team in maintaining a consistent and authentic social media presence across channels

Meet with team members, as required, to ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned projects

Eagerly share and exchange thoughts and ideas with others in a positive and supportive manner

Manage schedules and priorities to meet deadlines

Provide thoughtful ideas informed by social trends, competitor research and audience engagement opportunities

Demonstrate an increased comprehension of brand marketing, content strategy and social media execution within an agency environment

Skills and Abilities

Pursuing a Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Graphic Design or related major (or relevant coursework)

Experience capturing and editing content using iPhone or similar mobile tools

Familiarity with short‑form video editing for social media platforms

Working knowledge of graphic design tools such as Adobe Illustrator or Canva preferred

Experience or knowledge of social media scheduling platforms, like Sprout Social, a bonus

Strong communication and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments simultaneously

Energy and enthusiasm for social media, content creation and brand storytelling

Integrity, reliability and professionalism

Internship Schedule

Working schedule to be no more than 28 hours per week in‑person at our Peoria, IL office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays between hours of 8 a.m.–5 p.m.

Average hours expected to be 15–20 hours per week

Times to be discussed, with flexibility to work Mondays/Fridays as needed or desired
