The Opportunity
This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location within the PA Public Affairs division.

The Social Insights Strategist is part analyst, part creative problem solver – and a critical driver of our content creation process. This role ensures that every piece of content starts with insights, using data, social listening and cultural intelligence to shape what we create, why it matters, and how it performs. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of digital and social analytics, paired with the ability to go beyond simply reporting to translating data into compelling stories that drive action.

You’ll lead the charge in uncovering trends, universal truths and audience behaviors within our communities – then partner closely with content creators to translate those insights into content strategies and executions that drive relevancy and performance of our content and storytelling. This role will be a hands‑on, embedded partner in the creative process and work side‑by‑side with our content team to activate insights in real time, influencing ideation, messaging and optimization across channels.

The role also extends to social listening for all reactive and proactive listening – identifying conversation themes, flagging emerging issues and spotting social and cultural trends. As a key player, you’ll collaborate cross‑functionally with our enterprise digital teams to implement best practices in social listening for issues management and conversation insights.

This role is part of the Content team, a group within Abbott’s global marketing and external affairs team. The ideal candidate is motivated and proactive, with a passion for insights‑driven marketing, a hunger for problem solving, and an analytical mindset. You enjoy collaborating with colleagues to create effective solutions and are able to step up to push projects forward.

What You'll Work On:

Be a change-agent within our team, helping to propose new, innovative approaches to analytics and measurement that push us to think differently

Champion an insights‑first content model, ensuring audience, cultural and performance insights are the foundation of all content planning and creation

Partner directly with content creators to embed insights into ideation and production and ensure insights are translated into delivering breakthrough content.

Own and evolve social performance tracking across channels, including KPIs and reporting frameworks. Partner with cross‑functional teams to align on measurement, reporting and dashboards.

Manage data workflows across social platforms and tools (e.g., Sprinklr, PowerBI) to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Monitor and evaluate digital and social media data on ongoing basis and develop recommendations to improve against goals and benchmarks. Lead post-performance analysis and close the loop with creators, ensuring learnings are applied to future content.

Think strategically and translate data into a clear story with actionable insights for leadership.

Regularly track and identify cultural trends, platform updates, and audience behaviors to inform content strategy/planning and real‑time engagement opportunities.

Use social listening and audience data to deepen understanding of target audiences and surface actionable learnings.

Apply social SEO/GEO best practices to improve content discoverability.

Manage and evolve tools and capabilities (e.g., Sprinklr, AI, visual listening) to strengthen insights and strategy.

Initiate and conduct A/B testing across messaging, creative, audience groups to drive continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

5-7 years of experience in analytics or strategy function within the marketing/PR/digital media industry

Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations

Experience using social insights and listening platforms such as Sprinklr or similar tools; must be comfortable learning new systems and tools

Time management and prioritization skills and the ability to juggle multiple deliverables and timelines at once in a fast‑paced environment

Excellent written, presentation, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams

The base pay for this position is $78,000.00 – $156,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
