About the Museum
The Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum® is a floating nautical environment, featuring two fully restored 18th‑century vessels, the ship Eleanor and the brig Beaver . The museum blends live historical performance with technology and multimedia presentations, including the award‑winning documentary Let It Begin Here®.
Job Summary
We are seeking historical interpreters/actors to serve as hosts, dress in costume, and portray characters while guiding guests through the museum experience. Full‑time and part‑time positions are available; positions will begin in February following a mandatory pre‑employment drug screening. Positions are not seasonal or summer‑only.
Responsibilities
- Perform multiple roles on site, including lead and supporting characters.
- Work weekends and holidays; must have at least one weekend day of availability.
- Occasional evening hours for special events, programs, and rehearsals.
- Maintain a friendly and outgoing disposition; provide exceptional customer service.
- Lead large groups of visitors, working outdoors in all‑weather conditions.
Qualifications
- Prior performance experience or a strong interest in Revolutionary War‑era history.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
- Comfortable with outdoor work and all‑weather conditions.
