About the Role

As the Managing Director, Analytics & Insights, you’ll lead a large-scale portfolio of strategic analytics, research, and insight engagements across major healthcare and life sciences clients.

This role sits at the center of client strategy, integrated communications, digital intelligence, and organizational growth.

You’ll oversee high-performing analytics and insights teams while partnering directly with executive stakeholders across communications, social, digital, media, and strategy functions to help clients make smarter, faster, and more measurable decisions.

This is not a back-office analytics role.

You’ll be expected to influence senior clients, shape business strategy, modernize insight delivery, and help scale the overall impact of the analytics function within a rapidly evolving, AI-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Business Growth

  • Lead and grow a multi-million-dollar portfolio of analytics and insights engagements
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior client stakeholders across healthcare and life sciences organizations
  • Partner with communications, media, digital, and strategy leaders to integrate analytics into broader client programs
  • Expand the role of analytics within client relationships to drive measurable business impact
  • Support new business efforts including pitches, RFP responses, and capability presentations

This organization needs someone who can translate analytics into business decisions—not just dashboards.

Analytics Strategy & Insight Development

  • Oversee integrated research and analytics programs spanning social listening, communications measurement, audience intelligence, influencer analysis, and primary research
  • Ensure complex data is synthesized into clear, actionable strategic narratives
  • Guide teams in connecting insights to communications, reputation, engagement, and commercial outcomes
  • Lead the evolution of analytics delivery within an increasingly AI-enabled environment
  • Champion innovative methodologies, scalable frameworks, and repeatable analytics products

The expectation is not simply to generate insights—but to shape how organizations act on them.

Team Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop teams across Directors, Senior Managers, Analysts, and research professionals
  • Build a culture centered around accountability, collaboration, innovation, and high performance
  • Oversee staffing strategy, capacity planning, and team development initiatives
  • Foster an environment where curiosity, strategic thinking, and operational excellence can scale across the organization

This role requires someone who can elevate both client relationships and internal talent simultaneously.

Financial & Operational Leadership

  • Manage portfolio forecasting, budgets, profitability, and operational planning
  • Partner with finance and account leadership on renewals, pricing, and resource allocation
  • Improve delivery models and operational efficiencies while maintaining quality and strategic value
  • Help scale analytics operations to support long‑term organizational growth

Execution and scalability matter just as much as strategic thinking in this environment.

Innovation & Thought Leadership

  • Help position the organization at the forefront of data‑driven healthcare communications
  • Partner with leadership, technology, and innovation teams to develop new research capabilities and insight solutions
  • Integrate AI tools into analytics workflows to improve efficiency, speed, and analytical depth
  • Develop thought leadership, frameworks, and case studies that elevate the visibility of the analytics function

The organization is looking for someone who can help define where analytics and communications strategy are headed next—not just maintain what already exists.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience within analytics, insights, research, consulting, or agency environments
  • Strong background supporting healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, or highly regulated industries
  • Proven experience leading large, high-revenue client portfolios within complex agency or consulting environments
  • Deep expertise across social listening, earned media analytics, audience intelligence, and communications measurement methodologies
  • Experience with platforms such as Quid, Brandwatch, Meltwater, StatSocial, Audiense, Pathmatics, or similar technologies
  • Strong understanding of digital audience behavior across patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals
  • Exceptional executive communication and data storytelling capabilities
  • Proven ability to build, mentor, and scale high-performing analytics teams
  • Strong operational, financial, and business management experience
  • Comfortable operating within AI-enabled analytics and insight environments

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $210K – $230K
Comprehensive executive-level compensation package inclusive of bonus opportunities, benefits, and long‑term growth potential.
