Responsibilities
- This role will drive the planning and execution of the commercial strategy and activity through supporting the Revenue management team, Sales, Catering and Events, Marketing, Distribution teams, working effectively with area and regional support teams.
- Responsible for transforming commercial success through ensuring priorities, initiatives and IHG systems & tools are adopted.
- The first line of elevation point for Commercial Strategies when they seek support in gaining better performance. Collaborates with various internal data sources and teams to provide tailored recommendations, reporting and insights to guide the hotel commercial strategy team with revenue‑driving commercial initiatives.
- Works closely with functional leaders to ensure implementation and delivery of top‑line revenue initiatives, best practices to hotels, and delivery on channel performance and outperformance in RGI.
- Provides commercial direction to Area/Directors of Sales and Marketing in the development of effective sales and marketing strategies and plans to ensure sales objectives are achieved.
- Works with Area General Managers, General Managers, and Area/Directors of Sales & Marketing as needed to support annual area revenue goals for new and existing hotels.
- Supports the development and pipeline of talent of on‑property sales, marketing, and revenue through the utilization of their individual strengths and abilities and by providing IHG enterprise insights and best practices.
- Provides direction and recommendations for programmatic changes to optimize sales, including IHG systems, processes, and efficiencies.
Required Education, Experience, Technical Skills and Knowledge
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent international degree in Marketing, Business or Commerce.
- Has attended marketing‑focused workshops facilitated by industry/tertiary providers.
Critical Expertise & Experience
- Commercial sales and marketing above‑property expertise with a minimum of 7+ years in a commercial role, including experience in sales, hotels and brands at a regional level, in a multi‑unit management role.
- Experience with multi‑brand entities.
- Geographical/international experience, culturally adaptable.
- Broad‑based commercial understanding.
