About The Role
We are seeking an accomplished New Business Development leader with deep expertise in Engineering R&D Services to drive strategic growth across the Aerospace sector. This is a high‑impact individual contributor role focused on acquiring new business, building executive‑level relationships, and closing large engineering services engagements with Aerospace OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
Ideal Candidate
This role requires a strategic hunter with deep aerospace domain expertise, strong commercial acumen, and a demonstrated ability to shape and close large managed services engagements.
Mandatory Background (Non‑Negotiable)
- 8–15+ years of experience selling Engineering Services / ER&D services
- Proven success closing managed services / fixed‑price engineering engagements
- Experience managing and growing $20M+ aerospace engineering services portfolios
- Strong relationships with Aerospace OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers
- Experience selling solution‑led engineering programs, not staffing augmentation
Candidates will NOT be considered if their background is primarily in:
- Aerospace OEM internal sales
- Product / hardware sales
- Avionics product sales
- Airline software sales
- Product management
- MRO operational leadership
- Pure staffing augmentation sales
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and secure net‑new business opportunities for engineering services within aerospace accounts
- Build and expand executive‑level relationships across Aerospace OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers
- Develop and execute account acquisition strategies for engineering services growth
- Position engineering solutions across:
- Digital Engineering
- Embedded Systems
- Systems Engineering
- Verification & Validation
- MBSE
- Product Engineering
- PLM / Engineering Transformation
- Lead complex solution shaping and proposal development for fixed‑price and managed services engagements
- Drive commercial negotiations, pricing strategy, and contract closure
- Partner closely with delivery and engineering teams to align technical capabilities with customer requirements
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging aerospace engineering opportunities
Required Experience
- 8–10+ years of aerospace engineering services sales / business development experience
- Demonstrated success selling ER&D solutions to:
- Boeing
- RTX / Collins Aerospace
- GKN Aerospace
- Crane Aerospace
- Blue Origin
- PACCAR
- Other aerospace OEMs / Tier 1 suppliers
- Proven history of opening new logos and expanding strategic accounts
- Experience leading fixed‑price / managed services negotiations
- Strong executive presence with CXO‑level relationship management
- Ability to translate technical engineering capabilities into business value
Preferred Background
Candidates from engineering services organizations such as: LTTS, Quest Global, Capgemini Engineering, Akkodis, Belcan, KPIT, Tech Mahindra, HCLTech, Coforge, Wipro Engineering, Tata Elxsi.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field required
- MBA preferred
Travel
Willingness to travel across the U.S. and internationally as required.
