Summer Internship Experience - Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Media Relations Team
The Media Relations team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is looking for an energetic summer intern who is eager to gain real‑world experience in health earned media. Rising seniors studying Communications Media, Journalism, or Public Relations who share a deep passion for health and healthcare are encouraged to apply!
We are accepting resumes (along with a brief cover letter detailing what they hope to contribute and learn) until March 25.
About the internship
Our summer intern will work alongside a powerhouse team of earned media professionals supporting various media and communication initiatives, including:
daily media monitoring
news trend spotting
researching and building media lists
sourcing new and emerging media platforms
assisting with story development
coordinating interview logistics
drafting media materials
participating in team brainstorming sessions
This hybrid opportunity provides hands‑on experience at media shoots, interviews, meetings, and major hospital events. Applicants should live in the greater New York City area and be able to join us onsite at our East Midtown office as well as MSK’s Upper East Side campus for these high‑impact, in‑person opportunities.
This is a paid opportunity (no relocation expenses will be covered), and candidates should be available from June to August. All students who will be onsite even one day must be medically cleared by MSK’s Employee Health & Wellness team, which includes providing proof of the seasonal flu vaccine.
