Merchandising Graphic + Production Designer- JUNE- SEPTEMBER 2025 CONTRACT

A global leader in the beauty and consumer products space is seeking a highly organized and detail-driven Merchandising Graphic + Production Designer to join their creative team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong print production experience who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and enjoys bringing Art Director-approved concepts to life across a variety of permanent merchandising formats.

This position is hybrid out of NYC, requiring 3 days onsite per week.


Schedule + Compensation

  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite in NYC
  • Monday – Friday
  • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Contract opportunity- 3 MONTHS
  • Pay rate: $34.04/hr


Position Overview

Seeking a highly organized and detail-driven print production designer for permanent merchandising who brings experience translating Art Director-approved designs into pre-production artwork across multiple retail accounts and formats. This individual should have a sharp eye for consistency, a strong command of production workflows, and the ability to manage fast-moving timelines across a high volume of deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take Art Director-approved designs and translate them into pre-production artwork, adapting and resizing across all permanent merchandising formats and sizes to ensure consistency prior to mechanical house handoff
  • Execute simple layout and bullnose design work
  • Organize and maintain assets within a shared cloud server environment
  • Handle mechanical production and file preparation for handoff to external vendors
  • Support retouching, color matching, and print proof review in alignment with layout requirements
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency across multiple concurrent projects and deliverables


Required Skills + Experience

  • Deep expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat
  • Strong background in print production and mechanicals
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong eye for visual style across typography, design, and photography
  • Experience partnering closely with Art Directors to execute print artwork
  • Proven ability to manage production timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Beauty, cosmetics, fashion, or consumer goods retail industry experience preferred
