Our client is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Assistant Vice President (AVP), Marketing & Communications to lead enterprise-wide marketing strategy, brand development, communications, and go-to-market execution across a growing portfolio of companies, products, and business initiatives. This is a highly visible executive leadership role that will play a critical part in driving organizational growth, supporting expansion into new markets, launching new business entities, and elevating the company's overall market presence.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the AVP will serve as the senior leader responsible for both the strategic direction and day-to-day leadership of the Marketing & Communications function. The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist, builder, and operator - someone who can develop high-level enterprise initiatives while also creating scalable systems, leading high-performing teams, and driving measurable business results.

This opportunity is well-suited for a marketing executive with deep experience in brand architecture, product marketing, executive communications, digital strategy, and organizational leadership within a complex or rapidly growing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Marketing Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute a comprehensive enterprise-wide marketing and communications strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives
Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on market opportunities, competitive positioning, expansion initiatives, and brand strategy
Establish KPIs, reporting frameworks, and performance metrics to evaluate marketing effectiveness and business impact
Align marketing initiatives with broader organizational goals, revenue targets, and long-term growth strategies
Multi-Company Brand Architecture & Governance

Lead the development and oversight of brand architecture across multiple companies, products, and affiliated entities
Define brand hierarchy, positioning strategies, naming conventions, and messaging frameworks
Establish and maintain brand governance standards to ensure consistency, differentiation, and compliance across all channels
Partner with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure all communications and marketing materials align with regulatory requirements
Product Launch & Go-to-Market Strategy

Lead end-to-end go-to-market strategy and execution for new products, services, and business lines
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Underwriting, Actuarial, Sales, and executive leadership teams
Oversee product positioning, messaging development, launch planning, and campaign execution
Drive product adoption, market engagement, and revenue growth through strategic marketing initiatives
New Company & Market Expansion Initiatives

Lead marketing strategy and execution for the launch of new companies and affiliated business entities
Develop scalable launch frameworks, playbooks, and operational processes to support repeatable market expansion efforts
Ensure new entities align with enterprise strategy while maintaining distinct market positioning and brand identity
Product Marketing & Sales Enablement

Build and lead product marketing capabilities including competitive analysis, customer insights, positioning, and messaging
Develop sales enablement tools, training resources, presentations, and marketing collateral to support distribution channels
Partner closely with Sales leadership to support acquisition, retention, engagement, and growth initiatives
Communications Strategy & Executive Messaging

Oversee all internal and external communications initiatives, including executive communications and stakeholder engagement
Ensure clear, consistent, and high-quality messaging across all communication platforms and channels
Support executive leadership with strategic presentations, messaging development, and corporate communications initiatives
Digital, Content & Channel Strategy

Lead the development and execution of integrated multi-channel marketing campaigns across digital, web, content, and social platforms
Expand brand visibility, engagement, and audience reach through innovative marketing strategies
Utilize analytics, customer insights, and market intelligence to optimize campaign performance and inform strategic decisions
Organizational Leadership & Team Development

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Marketing & Communications team
Create scalable organizational structures, workflows, and operational processes to support business growth
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
Oversee external agencies, consultants, and strategic vendor relationships
Budgeting & Vendor Management

Develop and manage enterprise marketing budgets aligned with strategic priorities and business objectives
Oversee vendor partnerships, agency relationships, and contract negotiations in collaboration with Finance and Legal
Ensure effective resource allocation while maintaining high-quality deliverables and operational efficiency
Events, Engagement & Brand Experience

Provide leadership and oversight for conferences, enterprise events, agent engagement initiatives, and recognition programs
Ensure all events and experiences reinforce brand identity and support broader business objectives
Data, Insights & Performance Management

Establish a data-driven marketing function with strong analytics, reporting, and performance tracking capabilities
Deliver executive-level insights, recommendations, and strategic reporting to leadership
Continuously improve marketing performance through data analysis, customer insights, and market intelligence
Job Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required
MBA or Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field preferred
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, communications, or brand strategy
Proven experience leading enterprise-level marketing and communications functions
Strong background in brand development, product marketing, and go-to-market strategy
Experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives and influencing executive stakeholders
Demonstrated success building and developing high-performing teams
Strong analytical mindset with experience leveraging KPIs, reporting, and performance metrics
Exceptional written, verbal, and executive communication skills
Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience

Experience supporting high-growth organizations, multi-entity businesses, or expansion initiatives
Background in insurance, financial services, healthcare, fintech, or other regulated industries
Experience launching new products, brands, or affiliated companies
Familiarity with enterprise brand governance and executive communications strategy
Experience managing external agencies, consultants, and enterprise marketing budgets
Strong organizational leadership and change management capabilities
