Akkodis is seeking a UI/UX Developer with a client in San Antonio, TX 78215-Onsite for a 12-month contract.
Title: UI/UX Developer
Location: San Antonio, TX 78215-Onsite
Duration: 12-month Contract
Pay Range: $32-$34/hr on W2 (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors
Roles & Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, test, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of UX designs into the JavaScript/Java codebase, ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX design standards.
- Act as designer-developer, switching hats in both the areas of design & development, as Subject Matter Expert (SME) assisting with decision making for high visibility ongoing projects.
- Create clean semantic HTML markup that passes WCAG & ADA/508 Accessibility standards & compliance.
- Provide development and support to the customer-facing design system including new components, defects, accessibility, and page templates.
- Collaborate with analysts, developers, architects, and business teams for successful implementation and component requirements.
- Design and maintain design files, wireframes, mock-ups, and UI prototypes.
- Design and develop UI and UX interfaces and assist with new user interface testing or participate in usability reviews.
- Hands-on development on front-end user frameworks such as Vue.js, AngularJS, ReactJS, jQuery, etc.
- Develop reusable, responsive, and interactive patterns and code libraries that meet W3 standards for HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Research and remain current on user interface trends, programming techniques, new tools, and methods.
- Participate in conceptualizing, prioritizing, and creating strategies for product UX.
- Develop well-structured and maintainable code that follows best practices and industry standards.
- Work with team members to validate ideas with a data-driven approach and support SDLC processes.
- Ensure responsive website and application development support for customer-facing systems.
- Maintain proficiency in cross-browser compatibility issues and solutions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Deep experience in front-end web application development with hands-on programming.
- Experience creating conceptual and detailed design solutions based on end-user needs.
- Knowledge of storyboarding and design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and InVision.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong communication skills with business and technology users to create holistic solutions.
- Knowledge and experience using end-to-end Human Centered Design (HCD) techniques including design, research, and usability.
- Strong understanding of modern web technology stacks, especially front-end programming.
Preferred Qualifications
- UI/UX Design or Web Developer certifications/training.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical/business field OR relevant technical experience.
- Previous experience in the Electric and Gas Utility Industry.
- Exposure to front-end frameworks such as Vue.js, AngularJS, ReactJS, and jQuery.
- Familiarity with accessibility screen reader tools such as VoiceOver, JAWS, and NVDA.
- Experience working within Agile ceremonies and methodologies.
