Subject: Studio Art – Artist Professor (3‑D Art & Design) Search

Definition of Classification
The Studio Art Department at the University of Redlands seeks to hire a practicing artist and teacher in the 3D area starting August 2026. Primary teaching responsibilities will include courses in sculpture and 3D design. Additional expertise in ceramics, 3‑D digital modeling, or drawing is a plus. Teaching load is 2/2 credit. The position is also responsible for maintenance of 3D studio areas.

Required Qualifications

MFA or near completion

Expertise in sculpture/3‑D design

Undergraduate teaching experience

Commitment to diverse learners

Active creative practice

Desirable Qualifications

Ceramics, 3‑D digital modeling, or drawing experience

Liberal arts teaching background

Background Check
Satisfactory completion of a background check, including criminal records review, is required for employment.

Driver's License
Possession of a valid driver’s license is required for this position.

Physical and Psychological Exams
Employment may be contingent upon passing a pre‑employment physical exam with the ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs; a psychological evaluation may also be required.
