About the Job
In this role, you’ll manage and execute day-to-day public relations efforts as well as manage client expectations. Senior-level staff also act as cheerleaders for the agency -- suggesting new initiatives for team building, keeping a positive work environment, and mentoring junior staff – and have developed strong relationships with both media and clients.
With a roster of dynamic venture-backed brands, you will help craft messaging and leverage media relationships to create compelling narratives that support your client’s vision and mission.
The Senior Manager of Beauty should have an intermediate-level proficiency in beauty & wellness media and a strong understanding of the space. The ideal candidate also has strong relationships with reporters across national and regional (primarily New York and Los Angeles) business and consumer press.

Core Responsibilities
Media Expertise
- Develop and execute PR strategies and dynamic narratives that align with overarching client objectives and business goals, in collaboration with divisional leadership.
- Support the strategic planning and execution of media outreach plans, working closely with the Division Head to ensure high-impact results
- Proactively initiate innovative brand‑building opportunities and creative pitches that push beyond traditional media boundaries
- Secure stories and brand narratives across national and regional online, print, broadcast, and podcast platforms
- Maintain daily high‑level engagement with editors and media stakeholders across the business and beauty sectors to foster long‑term partnerships
- Draft authoritative press releases and high‑level written materials that effectively position brands for maximum coverage
Client Management
- Maintain regular, high‑touch communication with clients across all channels, acting as a trusted partner to help build long‑term rapport
- Ensure the integrity and strategic alignment of all client materials and written deliverables
- Manage the monthly reporting process to track performance metrics and demonstrate measurable agency value
Team Management & Development
- Mentor and develop junior staff members, providing the consistent guidance necessary to support their professional trajectory
- Partner with division leadership to fostering a culture of high performance and professional advancement
- Leverage approved AI tools to streamline research and administrative workflows, improving the speed and consistency of daily tasks while strictly adhering to agency data‑privacy protocols and ensuring every AI‑generated draft undergoes thorough human fact‑checking

- 5+ years of relevant experience
- A strong editorial network of business editors and writers
- A clear vision of the industry and competitive landscape

- A people person, skilled at building and nurturing relationships, with proven experience in supportive team management
- Skilled writer and communicator
- Ability to both balance many priorities and act resourcefully, all while maintaining a positive attitude
