Overview
Join the Road Runner Sports E-Comm Team and help bring our website to life!
At Road Runner Sports , our website is the most important way we connect with customers—runners, walkers, and fitness enthusiasts across the country. We’re looking for a detail‑driven Web Production Specialist to own the day‑to‑day production, publishing, and QA of every page on our site— from the homepage to landing pages, category pages, PDPs, and blog content.
This is a hands‑on, hourly role that powers the day‑to‑day content updates on roadrunnersports.com . If you enjoy working behind the scenes to ensure websites run smoothly in a fast‑paced e‑commerce environment, this role is for you.
You’ll collaborate closely with the Ecommerce, Marketing, Creative, Merchandising, and SEO teams to ensure our content is accurate, engaging, on‑brand, and published on time.
This role is about execution and operations, not content creation. You won’t be writing blog posts from scratch or setting SEO strategy—our Creative, Content, and SEO teams own that work. Your focus is building, QA’ing, and publishing pages in the CMS reliably and on schedule.
What you’ll get to do
Homepage & Campaign Execution
Lead weekly and seasonal homepage refreshes, including hero banners, marketing slots, featured categories, and campaign storytelling
Coordinate with Merchandising and Marketing on product launches, promotions, and key events (new drops, holidays, top sellers)
Ensure homepage content aligns with inventory position, brand voice, and conversion goals
Category & Content Pages
Build, publish, and maintain category and landing pages in the CMS, applying copy and SEO guidance from the SEO and Marketing teams
Update content pages to improve clarity, internal linking, and organic performance
Partner with SEO teams to implement keyword strategies and on‑page best practices
Product Detail Pages (PDPs)
Ensure technical accuracy across PDPs, including specs, features, sustainability callouts, and brand positioning
Publish and QA PDP updates—specs, features, imagery, and callouts—at scale and on deadline
Maintain consistency and accuracy across product content updates
Blog & Content Optimization
Partner with internal copywriters to refresh existing blogs to improve search rankings and accuracy
Publish blog content in the CMS, applying internal linking, metadata, and on‑page SEO standards provided by the SEO team
Ensure blog content aligns with internal linking strategies and merchandising goals
Content Operations & Quality Assurance (QA)
Build, update, and publish content within the CMS
Conduct thorough QA reviews before go‑live, including links, images, layouts, formatting, and metadata
Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure smooth execution and timely launches
What you’ll need to bring
2–4 years of hands‑on experience building and updating ecommerce or digital content in a CMS‑driven environment
Hands‑on experience with an enterprise CMS such as VTEX, Contentful, Adobe Experience Manager , or similar—building modules, managing publishing workflows, and troubleshooting page issues
Experience publishing content for homepage modules, category pages, product detail pages, and/or blog content
Strong QA skills including checking links, images, layouts, formatting, and on‑page metadata
Ability to execute updates accurately and on deadline while managing multiple requests
Strong editing and proofreading eye to catch errors in copy, formatting, and layout before pages go live (this role executes copy provided by other teams)
Comfortable applying on‑page SEO guidance provided by the SEO team, including keyword targeting, title tags & meta descriptions, headings, and internal linking
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Preferred Experience
Experience with VTEX, Contentful , or similar ecommerce/CMS platforms
Familiarity with GA4 and ecommerce performance reporting metrics such as traffic, conversion rate, and bounce rate
Experience with tools such as Bloomreach, Narvar, or on‑site search platforms
Experience implementing SEO updates at scale—including metadata updates, internal linking, and performance‑driven content refreshes
Experience working with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems and web publishing file standards
Work Schedule & Location (Hourly)
This is an hourly, non‑exempt role and is 100% in‑office at our San Diego, CA location. Work schedules are based on business needs and may occasionally include extended hours during major launches or time‑sensitive updates.
