Overview
Retina Consultants of Texas (RCTX) is seeking an Ophthalmic Photographer to join our research team. The position will provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment at our Katy Clinic, traveling to other clinics as needed.
Candidates must travel to various clinics to meet the needs of patients and providers and support the clinic hours Monday through Friday, 6:30 am–6:30 pm. Schedules are provided weekly based on provider clinic, patient and surgery schedules. Clinic staff may have weekend hours if available.
Pay Rate is $25.00+ per hour and eligible for overtime.

Responsibilities
Obtain and maintain certification for each study.
Learn the protocol for each certified trial.
Perform ophthalmic imaging studies per procedure manuals, including transferring images to reading centers.
Take fundus, anterior segment, and external photographs as required.
Perform intravenous fluorescein and/or indocyanine green angiographies as required.
Conduct scanning computerized ophthalmic diagnostics (e.g., OCT) as required.
Maintain cameras, equipment, and inventory.
Keep all subject‑related records related to imaging systems.
Maintain records of work performed.
Obtain images for physician presentations as needed.
Provide compassionate patient care throughout clinic flow.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills/Competencies:
Knowledge of ocular anatomy.
Computer literacy.
Excellent communication skills.
High attention to detail.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
CRA and JCAHPO certification preferred.
Certification in clinical research trials with familiarity of reading centers such as DARC, DUKE, UW‑FPRC, and DIRC is preferred. If not currently certified, be willing and able to obtain certification for all reading centers within 1–2 months of hire.
Experience Requirements:
Two to three years of experience in ophthalmic photography and digital imaging preferred.
Physical Abilities:
Normal range of eyesight to perform necessary tasks involved with photographing images.
Ability to work in a small, dim‑lit or dark room.
