About the Role
You understand football — the intensity, preparation, and constant pursuit of improvement that drive great programs. As an Account Executive focused on American football , you’ll join a dedicated sales team helping bring performance technology to high school and college programs across the United States.
You know what it’s like to lead people, motivate athletes, and manage the organized chaos that comes with football season. You’ve built relationships across the sport — from head coaches to strength and conditioning coordinators — and you have the credibility to engage them in meaningful conversations about performance, safety, and winning.
This is a hands-on, high-energy role for someone who combines formal sales experience in sports or sports tech with a genuine love for football and a passion for helping programs perform at their best.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution
Develop and execute a targeted sales plan focused on NCAA and high school football programs.
Manage the entire sales cycle — from prospecting and discovery to proposal, negotiation, and close — using proven, structured sales processes.
Present and sell PlayerData’s performance technologies , including GPS tracking, wearable systems, and performance analytics platforms, as essential tools for player and program development .
Utilize a robust PlayerData ambassador group to gain introductions to key prospects
Leverage webinars and social media marketing strategies to help drive inbound traffic to supplement pipeline
Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and activity tracking in CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
Collaborate with the broader football sales team to refine strategies, share insights, and drive consistent results.
Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with head coaches, athletic directors, and performance staff, especially strength and conditioning coaches who influence program development and technology adoption.
Be active in the football community — attending practices, combines, showcases, and conventions — to stay visible and connected.
Partner with internal teams to deliver seamless onboarding and ensure long-term customer satisfaction.
Market Knowledge & Growth
Stay current on trends in football performance technology , athlete monitoring, and data-driven coaching.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with evolving program needs.
Represent PlayerData at coaching clinics and industry events as a credible, trusted voice in performance technology.
Who You Are
Experienced Sales Professional: You bring formal sales training or strong experience in sports, sports tech, or SaaS, with a consistent track record of success.
Connected and Credible: You have an established network of football coaches and strength & conditioning professionals , particularly at the NCAA and high school levels.
Leader by Nature: You have coached or managed people and understand how to lead, motivate, and build trust.
High Football IQ: You understand the rhythms of the sport — the challenges of the season, the preparation cycle, and the realities of running a program.
Development Driven: You care about helping athletes and coaches improve through technology and actionable insights.
