Public Relations Account Executive/Senior Account Executive

to lead and support account teams in helping some of Michigan’s most influential brands achieve their goals.

5+ years of PR experience (agency experience strongly preferred) , a hunger for results, and a love for crafting compelling narratives, we want to meet you.

Salary Range : $65,000-$80,000

Key Responsibilities
Integrated Communications & Client Strategy

Develop and execute integrated communication strategies that align with client goals, organizational priorities, and audience needs

Serve as a strategic advisor—anticipating client needs, offering clear points of view, and simplifying complex issues into actionable guidance

Lead internal and client-facing engagements with clarity, confidence, and sound judgment

Drive cohesive execution across executive positioning, organizational messaging, stakeholder communications, and cross‑disciplinary collaboration

Media Relations (Earned Media Leadership)

Build and sustain strong relationships with reporters and editors while developing media plans that guide pitching, content, and amplification

Proactively secure high‑quality earned coverage and prepare clients for interviews through clear messaging and training

Monitor media performance and assess coverage quality, relevance, and alignment with strategic objectives

Writing & Content Development

Write with clarity, purpose, and precision—including for accuracy, tone and consistency—to position clients as credible leaders in their sectors

Develop a range of materials including press releases, media advisories, contributed content, social copy, award entries, and case studies

Create and manage press kits and supporting materials such as executive bios, SME profiles, fact sheets, and impact reports

AI & Emerging Communications Tools

Demonstrate

working proficiency with AI-enabled tools

to support research, content development, message testing, media list building, and workflow efficiency

Apply AI thoughtfully and ethically—as a support to strategy, creativity, and productivity, not a replacement for judgment or relationships

Stay curious about emerging tools and contribute ideas for improving client outcomes and internal processes

Operate as a

player/coach , owning key deliverables while supporting and mentoring junior team members

Manage multiple workstreams with strong organization, follow-through, and accountability

Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture

We’re Looking For Someone Who Is or Has:

A strategic thinker who can utilize exemplary client relations skills, anticipate client needs and develop trust with internal and external teams as a counselor and contributor

Exemplary client relations skills and executive presence to lead meetings

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with all levels of clients, team members and external contractors

A proven track record of high-quality media placements in a variety of outlets (print, broadcast and digital)

Strategic understanding of how paid, earned, shared and owned channels work together in an integrated strategy

Experience utilizing and managing PR news distribution platforms (Meltwater, Cision or the like); ability to skillfully research and build media target lists

Highly organized, detail‑driven team player who thrives in fast‑paced environments, elevates others’ work, and delivers consistently high‑quality output

Is motivated by meaningful work and believes communications can drive alignment, trust, and progress
