Associate S&P and Entertainment Content Review
Location: El Segundo, California, Company: Mattel HQ, Inc.

Pay range: USD $33,462 − $41,827 per hour (indicative; base pay based on location, skills, and experience).

Mattel is seeking a motivated, passionate, collaborative, and driven Standards and Practices ("S&P") Associate to review and advise on Mattel TV Studio productions, books, mobile apps, games, and other entertainment properties from an S&P perspective, and to assist with product and brand advertising and marketing from a legal perspective.

What Your Impact Will Be

Review and advise on entertainment content across the Mattel portfolio, including scripts, storyboards, animatics, cuts, etc., ensuring alignment with company standards and industry best practices.

Research third‑party intellectual property and personal rights issues.

Track and organize clearance reports from third‑party vendors and flag potential issues.

Identify intellectual property concerns and elevate to senior team members.

Assist with stock footage and image library agreements.

Prepare summaries, reports, and status updates.

Partner with the Advertising and Marketing Legal Team to confirm marketing materials meet requirements.

Perform regular analyses of the competitive landscape and stay current on industry trends.

Communicate with internal teams, supervising attorneys, and occasional outside counsel.

Manage multiple assignments, respond to day‑to‑day questions, and elevate complex issues.

Maintain legal/compliance resources and databases.

Support development of training materials and internal resources.

Participate in internal trainings, team initiatives, special projects, research assignments, and process improvements.

What We’re Looking For

BA/BS degree required.

1‑3 years of relevant experience or internship experience in standards & practices, legal, media, compliance, or a related field preferred.

Ability to conduct research and apply guidelines with attention to detail.

Identify potential issues and appropriately elevate them.

Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Communicate clearly and professionally, in writing and verbally.

Work collaboratively while taking initiative.

Stay organized and detail‑oriented when reviewing content and documentation.

Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Demonstrate independent judgment when advising on wide range of issues affecting key initiatives across the Mattel portfolio of brands.

Interest in entertainment, media, children’s content, and/or intellectual property a plus.

Familiarity with content standards, media production, or legal concepts preferred but not required.
