Responsibilities

In conjunction with the Marching Band Director, responsibilities include support of the marching band program, including, but not limited to:
Design, direct, and instruction of high school color guard.
Establish performance requirements, enforce academic requirements, and verify each student's eligibility to participate in color guard.
Provide for color guard participation at extracurricular events, including football games, pep rallies, parades, and other community-based activities.
Adhere to rehearsal schedule, performance schedule and protocols.
Attend all performances and events.
Coordinate band booster club, and support band booster club activities.
Facilitating and coordinating with parents and parent organizations.
Ensure that programs are cost-effective and funds are managed wisely.
Maintain current inventory of all fixed assets within department.
Oversee process of cleaning, repairing, and storing all color guard equipment.
Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
Accompany and supervise students on out-of-town trips.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and BOE policies.
Other duties as assigned by the principal and/or superintendent.
Qualifications

Ability to maintain a positive work environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proven ability to produce high-quality music experiences
Passion for student-centered arts education
Committed to continuous program growth and to creating meaningful performance opportunities
Appropriate New Jersey Certification or New Jersey Substitute Certification required
