Position Summary
This position achieves maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively selling the company’s products and/or related services by performing the essential duties below.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business for the company’s products which includes some cold calling

Display or demonstrate products using samples or catalog emphasizing salable features

Develop and maintain relationships with customers and vendors

Investigate and resolve customer problems

Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas

Quote prices and prepares sales contracts for obtained orders

Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities and potential for new products and services

Provide feedback on adequate stock levels

Participate in trade shows and conventions

Responsible for making occasional trips to the corporate office or other training and team building events to be determined by the national sales manager

All other duties as required

Qualifications

High School diploma

3-5 years related experience and/or training in sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience

3+ years of building material experience preferred

3+ years of builder’s hardware experience preferred

Travel within your territory with 8-10 overnights per month

Valid driver’s license

Ability to maintain confidentiality and have a strong attention to detail and accuracy

Strong communication via phone, email and in-person

Able to multi-task and remain organized while adapting to the needs of the organization

Ability to be flexible and manage several tasks at the same time to meet deadlines

Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Must be a team player with a positive attitude

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to handle object and controls.

Frequently required to sit, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

Frequently required to talk or hear.

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
