Job Overview
LPL Financial is seeking a VP, Product Manager within LPL’s Advisor Experience, one of the most visible departments in our organization. As a trusted business partner you will drive outcomes, lead cross‑functional teams, develop strategy, and contribute to the deep and thoughtful analysis that enables our leadership team to make informed decisions, while furthering the organization’s ongoing Digital Transformation.

Key to this role is strong experience with the financial industry, custody and non‑custody business, data feeds and APIs along with knowledge of investment and retirement products and industry trends. The candidate should also be able to coordinate and influence in a highly cross‑functional environment. A deep understanding of the complexities of financial services and the regulatory environment, combined with Agile management, is critical. The incumbent must lead interactions with customers, internal teams, and external business partners to drive key outcomes in support of our strategy.

The VP, Product Manager helps bring purpose to the cross‑functional and multiple Product Teams and is charged with maximizing the value of the team’s work. The Product Manager maintains, prioritizes, and drives the execution of the Product Backlog and works closely with stakeholders, customers, and the business to cultivate and nurture a community around the product. The Product Manager serves as a liaison between the cross‑functional product teams, Scrum teams, and stakeholders, ensuring the team builds the right product solutions at the right time. The Product Manager provides the “who, what, and why” so the Scrum teams can answer “how.”

The Product Manager will coordinate across business and technology to help stand up the product roadmap, create, prioritize, and refine stories in the product backlog, and help drive the implementation of client solutions. The Product Owner will be expected to contribute to key on‑the‑spot decisions regarding scope and requirements.

Responsibilities

Meet with stakeholders to understand the strategic vision for the product

Collaborate with the product manager to define features

Break features down to user stories and prioritize the product backlog

Be a conduit between the Scrum team and the business to eliminate interruption

Drive collaboration and coordination across business and technology throughout the development process

Communicate with stakeholders, end users, business and IT and manage partner expectations

Bring business expertise that prioritizes and accepts the work developed by teams

Assist the Scrum team with creating acceptance criteria and defining the team’s “Definition of Ready” and ‘Definition of Done’

Be available to the Scrum team to answer questions about the product by attending Scrum ceremonies

Review user stories to ensure all defined acceptance criteria have been met

Showcase the Scrum team’s accomplishments and receive feedback at demo & review

Represent the Scrum team at SoS and keep a pulse on the direction of the program

Be an advocate for the Scrum team and explain their capabilities and limitations to the business, and set the team up for success

Contribute to the efforts of the digital transformation and product management team by executing strategies that help #CLR evolve into an industry leading organization, delivering enviable digital functionality and customer experiences

Contribute to the governance and production of the department’s executive‑level dashboard, which includes key performance metrics that provide transparency and a view into our progress toward achieving strategic objectives

Establish effective working relationships with all stakeholders and ensure effective portfolio communications

Ensure effective reporting of all products to enable stakeholders, sponsors and management to make appropriate decisions

Formulate, organize and monitor inter‑connected products and initiatives

Requirements

Minimum of 15 years of experience in product management, consulting, program & project management, preferably within a financial services or related fintech firm

Minimum of 12 years participating, developing, cultivating, and leading strong, high‑performing teams in an agile environment

Minimum of 5 years as a product owner and/or manager working with Agile/Scrum

Ability to work well in a fast‑paced, changing environment

Ability to work with offshore teams

Pay Range
$135,960.00 - $226,600.00

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
