Role: Head of Creative (AI Powered Marketing) Industry: Marketing/E-commerce Location: Hybrid 3 days in Bayonne, NJ (this location is Upper North of NJ so please be very specific while looking for candidates) Portfolio must include: work demonstrating creative breadth across packaging, print, retail, and digital channels; Amazon creative work (A+ Content, listing images, ad assets); and examples of AI implementation in creative production.
Candidates will be evaluated on creative range, depth of Amazon experience, AI implementation capability, and demonstrated ability to lead a multi-channel creative team.
Key Focus: The Head of Creative is part of the marketing team and serves as the creative lead of client's fully in-house design function. This role owns the full creative output of the team—brand identity, packaging, print, digital, campaigns. Someone who has managed a team of 1-2 graphic designers… Anyone who has very strong hands-on experience (E-comm, Amazon, PRO and Retail domain). Someone who has experience is creating great website which are eye catching. This is a well-rounded creative leadership role that requires deep expertise across traditional and digital channels, paired with the ability to manage and develop a team of designers with diverse specializations. In addition to full creative ownership, this role brings a critical capability onto the team for the first time: dedicated Amazon and e-commerce creative expertise, built and owned entirely in-house. Beyond creative execution, this role is expected to function as a true business partner—understanding client's commercial goals, category dynamics, retail environment, and channel-specific needs well enough to make creative decisions that drive real business outcomes. The Sr. Creative Lead reports to the Sr. Marketing Director and directly manages the Sr. Graphic Designer, Graphic Designer, and Philippines-based designer (who supports Amazon production).
Time % - Summary of Major Duties:
1 - 35% - Creative Leadership & Team Management: Lead, coach, and develop the in-house creative team to deliver high-quality, on-brand work across the full spectrum of Catchmaster's creative output—spanning brand identity, packaging, print, retail, PRO channel, digital, and e-commerce. Full-Scope Creative Ownership: Set the creative standard across every channel the team touches—packaging design and structural dielines, print materials, retail displays, new product launch campaigns, PRO channel content (sell sheets, catalogs, trade materials), digital campaigns, and e-commerce content. This role is accountable for the quality and consistency of all output. Team Oversight: Directly manage the Sr. Graphic Designer, Graphic Designer, and Philippines-based designer (Amazon production); set clear priorities, workloads, and performance expectations across the team. Creative Direction: Provide hands-on art direction and constructive feedback to ensure all output—from a product label to an Amazon listing—meets brand standards and business objectives. Talent Development: Identify skill gaps and coach team members on design craft, print production, retail execution, and AI tool adoption. Process & Workflow: Establish and maintain creative workflows and project management practices in Monday.com to ensure on-time, accountable delivery across all channels.
2 - 20% - Brand Strategy & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a true business partner and creative lead across the organization—ensuring a consistent, differentiated Catchmaster brand presence across retail, PRO, digital, and e-commerce channels. Business Partnership: Understand Catchmaster's commercial goals, category dynamics, and channel-specific needs well enough to make creative decisions that drive measurable business outcomes—not just aesthetic ones. Brand Stewardship: Enforce and evolve Catchmaster's visual identity guidelines across all touchpoints: packaging, print, retail environments, PRO channel materials, and digital/e-commerce. Stakeholder Partnership: Partner with e-commerce, sales, retail, product development, and PRO channel teams to understand business needs and deliver effective creative solutions. Agency & Vendor Management: Where applicable, brief and manage external creative vendors or freelancers, providing clear direction and brand guidance.
3 - 25% - AI-Powered Production: Champion AI tools as a production multiplier across the creative team, increasing output speed and quality across all channels—from packaging mockups to Amazon lifestyle imagery—without sacrificing brand integrity. AI Tool Adoption: Actively use and evaluate AI image generation, editing, and ideation tools (e.g., Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, ChatGPT) to accelerate asset production across all channels. Team Enablement: Train and upskill team members on AI workflows; establish guardrails and quality standards for AI-assisted output. Workflow Integration: Identify opportunities to embed AI tools into recurring production tasks across print, packaging, digital, and e-commerce—freeing up designer capacity for higher-value work. Innovation Scouting: Research and pilot emerging AI creative technologies; present recommendations to marketing leadership.
4 - 20% - Amazon & E-Commerce Creative: Own and build Catchmaster's Amazon creative capability in-house—a critical gap this role is specifically hired to fill. Lead all creative for Amazon and other e-commerce platforms, driving conversion and brand visibility. Listing Content: Lead the creation of A+ Content, Brand Stores, main images, and infographics optimized for Amazon's algorithm and shopper behavior. Campaign Assets: Develop Sponsored Brands/Display ad creatives, lifestyle imagery, and promotional graphics for key retail moments (Prime Day, seasonal peaks, etc.). Conversion Optimization: Continuously test and refine visual content to improve click-through and conversion rates, leveraging data insights. Platform Expertise: Stay current on Amazon creative guidelines, policy updates, and emerging e-commerce visual standards to keep Catchmaster ahead of competitors. Philippines Team Direction: Direct and quality-control the Philippines-based designer who supports Amazon production.
Skills / Competencies / Qualifications:
Proven track record building or managing an in-house creative team, with experience providing art direction and feedback across a diverse range of channels and deliverables.
Demonstrated fluency across the full creative spectrum: brand identity, packaging and dielines, print production, retail materials, PRO channel content, and digital/e-commerce assets.
Demonstrated Amazon creative portfolio: A+ Content, Brand Stores, listing images, and sponsored ad assets. Amazon is a critical gap this hire fills—candidates must show real, hands-on experience.
Hands-on experience with AI creative tools (Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, or equivalent) with a clear point of view on how to use them responsibly in a production environment.
Expert-level command of Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
Strong grasp of print production fundamentals: prepress, color management, dieline execution, and vendor coordination.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing deadlines across a distributed team.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable presenting creative work and recommendations to leadership.
Business acumen and commercial mindset: ability to connect creative decisions to sales performance, retail strategy, category growth, and channel-specific needs—not just aesthetics.
Highly collaborative, organized, and results-oriented—equally comfortable doing the work and leading others.
Experience with project management tools (Monday.com preferred) to manage team workflows and ensure accountability.
