Position Summary
The Social Media Coordinator will play a key role in shaping Young Mothers, Inc. (YMI’s) digital presence, sharing inspiring stories, and connecting the organization’s mission with a global audience. Working closely with the Executive Director and leadership team, this individual will help ensure consistency across content creation, design, engagement, and social media management across multiple platforms. This role requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage projects independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.
Key Responsibilities
Create and publish engaging content across Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
Write compelling, platform-specific captions aligned with our mission
Design eye-catching graphics using Canva
Research trending hashtags to expand reach and engagement
Schedule and manage posts using tools like Buffer
Promote events and campaigns across social platforms
Collaborate with our team to maintain consistent branding and messaging
Highlight stories, resources, and initiatives that support young mothers.
Qualifications
Interest or experience in social media, marketing, or communications
Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
Basic experience with Canva and scheduling tools (a plus, not required)
Strong writing and communication skills
Detail-oriented and organized
Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely
Passion for supporting women and community-focused initiatives
