Grows profitable service labor sales and exercises disciplined expense control.ResponsibilitiesSchedules and assigns jobs and work areas to employees in the service department according to their skills and knowledgeReviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billingCommunicates, enforces and monitors service department processes to ensure customer satisfactionCreates annual location service department goals and budget, in alignment with the organizations financial and operational objectivesExecutes service department marketing plan with the direction from aftermarket manager and marketing managerEnsures that all service warranty and Product Improvement Program claims within the required timeframe to receive maximum creditManages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for employees reporting to this positionAssists with the development and training of service personnel and completes performance reviews of service staffFollows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignmentsMaintains knowledge of John Deere productsExperience, Education, Skills and Knowledge3+ years of experience managing a service department; demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferredExperience with small tractors, lawn equipment, & motor sportsExperience analyzing and interpreting internal reportsHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred#GMP
