Major/Essential Functions:

40% ALUMNI & DONOR ENGAGEMENT

Develop and implement a strategic plan for alumni relations, identifying and sustaining ways to engage alumni of the college.

Manage alumni and donor records and appeal codes in the Advancement CRM.

Serve as the primary contact and facilitator for the Dean’s Advisory Council (DAC); manage regular communications, meeting scheduling, and annual bylaw updates.

Oversee the college’s donor and alumni stewardship program, ensuring timely recognition of distinguished awards, gifts, and life milestones.

Enhance alumni programs to boost engagement for both current students and alumni, providing strategies to bridge the transition for graduating students.

30% MARKETING & ADVANCEMENT COMMUNICATIONS

Research and write compelling alumni feature stories and news for digital platforms, newsletters, and the College Annual Report.

Manage alumni multi-channel digital distribution (email, social media, and web) via CRM platforms like Emma.

Oversee annual giving communications aimed at college alumni, including Texas Tech’s Day of Giving initiatives, across CRM platforms like Emma.

Provide detailed engagement analytics to optimize outreach strategies and ensure alumni and donor data integrity within institutional and college systems.

Collaborate on the creation of visual assets, promotional materials, and story banks for external college invitations and initiatives.

15% DEAN SUPPORT

Serve as the primary external communications writer and editor for messaging from the Dean, including scripts, speeches, donor letters, and social media.

Manage communication distribution on behalf of the Dean, including congratulatory and thank-you notes to alumni in response to achievements and news.

Coordinate and provide oversight for the Dean’s external media appearances and video requests.

10% ALUMNI EVENTS

Lead strategic planning for college-wide alumni programming andrecognition events.

Oversee high-profile distinguished alumni recognition as directed by the dean.

Work closely with faculty and staff to ensure alignment between external events and academic priorities.

5% OTHER

Manage the alumni relations budget and record-keeping, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources.

Collaborate with cross-campus partners to grow new alumni engagement opportunities.

Attend senior staff and advancement meetings and serve as backup support for external college events as needed.
