Audiovisual Field Engineer - I
The Audiovisual (AV) Field Engineer - I will be at the forefront of ensuring seamless integration and functionality of audiovisual systems. From networking to audio and video equipment, you'll utilize your technical expertise to bring our projects to life. This role demands attention to detail, punctuality, and excellent communication skills to effectively commission audiovisual system installations.
Skills
Audiovisual system commissioning and field support
Basic AV control systems and DSP configuration (Crestron, Extron, QSC, Biamp, BSS)
Audio, video, and control equipment setup and troubleshooting
Foundational AV/IT networking knowledge (TCP/IP, IP, RS-232, USB)
Experience loading and testing control code and GUI files
Use of AV/IT tools, software, and test equipment
Strong documentation and organizational skills
Clear communication and customer-focused approach
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and adapt in the field
Commitment to safety standards and ongoing technical learning
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred
Must attain AVIXA CTS and CompTIA ITF+ certifications within one year of starting
2+ years of previous AV/IT technical experience
Familiarity with loading, testing, and editing control code and graphical user interface files
Basic experience with digital communications protocols such as IP, RS232, RS485, and USB
Understanding of common audio and video equipment setup and adjustment
Proficiency with digital signal processors such as Biamp, BSS, Crestron, Extron, and QSC
Knowledge of software, hand tools, and test equipment in the AV and IT trades
Basic understanding of configuring wired and wireless TCP/IP networks preferred
Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and adapt to varying project requirements
Responsibilities
Provide field engineering support and expertise to project teams
Assist with control system submittals and systems testing
Conduct commissioning and punch list preparation
Ensure system quality and performance meet project requirements
Maintain accurate documentation and configuration files
Deliver system training to clients as needed
Adhere to safety standards and attend safety meetings
Pursue ongoing training and maintain certifications
Strive for a high billable/chargeable workload
