You are genuinely curious about what’s happening in the world oftravel and how it affects the people who work in it. You naturally noticewhat’s new, changing or important — and you enjoy turning that into clear,useful and engaging news for a professional audience. You also don’t shy awayfrom reported features that show off your storytelling skills.

You'lllearn the ins and outs of the travel industry as you work together with ouraward-winning editorial team, report from the field, shape our news content,interview some of the top players in travel, edit freelancers' work, contributeto social media and work at our own live events. You’re the type of person whocombines warmth with strong professional instincts and consistently shows upprepared, polished and engaged — ready to listen, learn and get the best story.

Thisis a highly visible, on-camera and in-person role. You must be comfortableconsistently presenting yourself in a polished, professional manner inmeetings, industry settings and live events. You will regularly interact withsenior leadership and external stakeholders and are expected to consistentlydemonstrate readiness and professionalism in those settings. While there issome travel in this role, expect a collaborative, deadline-driven environmentthat generally requires a standard Monday-Friday schedule in alignment with theteam.

WhatYou’ll Do:

Overseeing TravelAge West’s digitalnews output and writing and editing daily quick-turnaround news pieces

Reporting and writing weekly features

Contributing to the monthly print cycle,including managing sections and editing

Assigning, editing and collaboratingwith freelance writers

Supporting marketing initiatives,awards programs and live events

Representing and upholding the TravelAgeWest brand in all interactions with industry partners, sources and colleagues.(Expect daily communication with clients and audience members, and about 30%travel.)

Building relationships across thetravel industry

Backing up the team wherever needed

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

2-3 years of editorial experience(magazine, newspaper or digital)

Exceptional writing and editing chopswith a diversity of clips (news writing, features and interviews)

Familiarity with AP style

The ability to juggle deadlines andwork ahead

Strong organizational skills andattention to detail

A team player with strong initiativewho can manage projects independently

A four-year degree (English,Journalism or Literature preferred)

Hybrid role based in Los Angeles with aminimum of one day per week in Century City office required

The annual base salary range for this role is $71,000 andis commensurate with experience.
