We are seeking a Business Pathway Program Director to lead and expand the program, promote student engagement, and cultivate industry partnerships. This full‑time teacher‑leadership position is for someone with a background in business or a related field and a passion for providing students with experiential learning opportunities.
The position includes teaching three elective classes on a block schedule, overseeing the student store and coffee cart, and leading the DECA Program.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach three classes on a block schedule, including Intro to Business & Management, Marketing & Management, and Future Ready.
- Develop and maintain strong support from parents and community volunteers for the program.
- Cultivate relationships with stakeholders within the school, the larger AMHS community, and the business community.
- Support programming during the Community Period and work with a smaller student group for mentorship and advisory, while creating smaller communities within the larger school.
- Enjoy working with high‑school students and commit to helping students learn.
Qualifications
- B.A. (or higher) in Business or a related field.
- Current Washington State Teaching Certificate with an endorsement (or ability to obtain endorsement) in Business / CTE or a related field is strongly preferred.
- At least 3 years of high‑school teaching experience on a block schedule and familiarity with High School DECA is a plus.
Salary
Salary is based on internal equity, salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications. Range: $54,929 – $90,635.
