Vocal Music Director

QUALIFICATIONS :

Iowa Teaching License with 5-12 Music Endorsement
BA, MA preferred
Proven leadership and successful teaching Experience at the secondary level with vocal music, show choir and special ensemble groups.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.

SUPERVISES:

JOB GOALS : Provide collaborative spirit and work with other highly successful teachers throughout all academic departments in order to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :

Plan, conduct and evaluate instruction based on district curriculum
Conduct assessments of student progress, both formal and informal
Report student progress
Directing 2-3 curricular choirs
All State preparation
Administrative Duties associated with Vocal Music Director position
Show Choir, solo and ensemble preparations
Involvement in spring musical production
Jazz choirs
Other duties as assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : 186/184 Contract Days. Salary (Part of contract will include 15% of base salary for vocal music) and calendar year to be established by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION : Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the District's policy on Evaluation, State Statute, and any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
