Overview
Columbia Basin College ("CBC" or the "College") seeks a Program Coordinator to organize, plan, schedule, and monitor activities consistent with the STEM Center mission. This position collaborates with multiple departments to establish and execute events and programs at CBC and with local organizations, higher education partners, and school districts to promote access to STEM learning opportunities for all students in the Tri‑Cities. The position reports to the Director for the Community STEM Learning Center.

Primary Responsibilities
Provide direct coordination to the Director for the Community STEM Learning Center in support of student‑centered programming and services within the Battelle Community STEM Learning Center.
Provide primary intake services and customer service to students, staff, faculty, community partners and the public; resolve problems and respond to inquiries regarding programs and services.
Assist the STEM Center Director with development and implementation of STEM programs and activities related to STEM.
Purchase and procure materials needed to implement programming for STEM related grants and sponsorships.
Maintain STEM Center inventories and supplies.
Attend STEM related meetings and professional development opportunities with, or in place of, the STEM Center Director, as requested/required.
Attend and participate in college scheduled activities, which include but are not limited to graduation, open house/recruiting events as assigned, and required meetings.
Assist STEM Director with the management of Advisory Board, which includes taking recording minutes, emailing board and keeping advisory board informed with current information.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Associate's degree or equivalent education from an institutionally accredited college or university.
Two (2) years of experience working in STEM education or equivalent volunteer or paid experience.
Three (3) years of clerical or secretarial experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an institutionally accredited college or university.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Terms of Employment
This is a full‑time, overtime‑eligible, classified staff position.
The typical work hours are Monday‑through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; the position may require a flexible schedule when prior notice is given by the College.
Process Note
A background check including criminal record history will be conducted as a prerequisite to hiring.

Usual office conditions. The noise level is typical of most office environments with telephone usage, personal interruptions and background noise.
