Description

The Fashion Director is a strategic creative leader responsible for shaping and elevating the brand’s fashion point of view to inspire the customer through compelling product storytelling. Partnering closely with cross‑functional leadership across creative, merchandising, design, and marketing, this role ensures the initial concept and vision are clearly defined and carried through the entire creative process to final delivery across all channels. The Fashion Director guides the team in translating brand strategy into impactful visual narratives through outfitting each seasonal collection. While grounded in a strong styling sensibility, this role prioritizes direction over execution, overseeing end‑to‑end Fashion Office initiatives to ensure projects are delivered with excellence, accuracy to product intention, fit, and design, and alignment to business needs and timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the creative and marketing team leads to produce compelling fashion stories that highlight key seasonal messages and business goals.
  • Lead and mentor the team.
  • Be the expert in our product and intended expression to the consumer.
  • Direct the product look selection process and the creation of the Seasonal Outfitting Deck, knowing product benefits, attributes, and volume potential to help drive revenue and align with business and product priorities.
  • Share Post‑Shoot Outfitting Update with broader teams in marketing and merchandising.
  • Partner with the AVP, Fashion in the creation of seasonal key Big Idea and Pillar product distortions for Product POV milestones, reviewing assortments for all tiers to ensure big idea design outfitting stories are protected at the inception to optimize storytelling as input into the buy.
  • Ensure all team outfitting deliverables drive business goals with a campaign‑first, creative‑first, and customer‑first mindset.
  • Present to internal leaders at the VP+ level.

Minimum Salary: $148,000.00

Maximum Salary: $209,790.00

VS Co provides a range of compensation for this role as shown. Your actual salary will be determined by a number of factors, including your specific skills and experience, geographic region, or other relevant factors.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in a fashion relevant role (marketing, visual, styling, creative, merchandising).
  • Deep understanding of visual merchandising, editorial photography, social media, and the digital space and how to build the best product experience in all channels.
  • Strong leadership and consensus‑building skills, with willingness to continually embrace personal and professional development.
  • Proven experience leading and developing a team of creative professionals, as well as working across indirect reports and cross‑functional partners.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work across creative, technical, and operational partners.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and change. Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, shared digital systems, Keynote, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
  • Substantial travel may be required.
  • Ability to work in our New York City office required.
