Assistant Pastor Job Description
New Hope is seeking a minister who will work alongside our Senior Pastor to shepherd and disciple our congregation in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Assistant Pastor will be responsible for overseeing committees, youth and music ministries, community groups, hospital and home visitations, and various administrative responsibilities. This is a full‑time position with a salary commensurate with experience.

General Duties
The Assistant Pastor will regularly meet with congregants and our youth, shepherding them through pastoral visitations, counseling, and ministry meetings. He will assist the Senior Pastor in discipling and training leaders to build up the body of Christ, and will seek relationships with unchurched youth and non‑believers in Grantsburg and surrounding communities.

Preaching and Teaching
The Assistant Pastor will preach at least once a month and regularly throughout the summer in our Sunday service, and will also support children’s ministries, lead seminars and Bible studies throughout the year.

Community Activity
The Assistant Pastor will become involved with at least one community group that meets monthly in the Grantsburg area, supporting youth and outreach activities.

Men’s Ministry
The Assistant Pastor will oversee our Men’s Ministry, encouraging, equipping and discipling men. Meetings occur weekly or bimonthly and include Bible study, fellowship, and accountability.

Women’s Ministry
The Assistant Pastor will oversee our Women’s Ministry, strengthening faith and equipping women. The ministry cultivates grace and fellowship through women‑led Bible studies and other gatherings.

Administration
The Assistant Pastor will oversee committees including Sunday School, Youth Ministry, Music Ministry and our Fellowship ministry, recruit volunteers, maintain ministries, support effectiveness, and manage databases and church schedule.

Communication
The Assistant Pastor will oversee communication to church members through email, website, and social media, regularly updating members and attendees with weekly announcements.

Requirements

Deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Broad and deep understanding of the Word of God (Old and New Testament), rooted in biblical inerrancy and a passion for daily application.

Deep love for people of all ages, including the broken, lost, and unreached.

Gift for youth outreach, focusing on appealing to the younger generation and engaging in community events and sports.

Musically gifted.

Available and comfortable leading Bible studies for adults and youth.

Humble and joyful.
