This position is part of the Office of Management, Department of Energy. As a Program Manager, you will provide direct and responsive support to the immediate offices of the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Energy, ensuring the seamless provision of a wide array of critical administrative services while developing enterprise-wide policy and strategic frameworks that serve as authoritative models for all DOE components.
Specialized Experience Requirements:
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting all of the following:
Leading programs of large-scale initiatives, including defining objectives, developing comprehensive plans, and overseeing the execution of projects to achieve measurable outcomes.
Conducting in-depth analysis of program performance, evaluating operational effectiveness, and developing strategic recommendations to address organizational challenges.
Managing substantial financial resources for programs or projects (e.g., budgets exceeding $10 million), including formulating budget requests, allocating funds, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Education cannot be substituted for specialized experience at the GS-15 grade level.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps; as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
