Role Summary / Purpose
Synchrony is continuing to build a world class Performance Media and Creative Organization committed to driving results with our retail and payment partners while also delivering leading customer experiences. We are looking for a Content Specialist with deep expertise in creating and editing high‑quality consumer and B2B website content to optimize performance across our business lines.

An online electronic portfolio is required as part of this application process, and it must include at least three examples of your work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Create compelling web content that aligns with overall content and media strategy and internal client requirements.

Draft detailed outlines or briefs for freelance or agency partners to create long‑form content; review and edit drafts for web and discoverability best practices; share recommendations with client teams.

Support writing of branded content (including long‑form content) such as blogs, articles, etc. as needed.

Collaborate with internal team members to create content ideas to help improve brand discoverability.

Research/organize facts related to the assigned topic and content type to compile and organize writing ideas.

Help ensure consistency in voice, messaging and approach across all digital written materials in partnership with VP of Content, Creative Directors and Corporate Brand.

Support development of a content calendar that spans our lines of business.

Apply campaign analysis and data insights to iterate, improve and maximize content results.

Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree. In lieu of a degree, high‑school diploma/GED plus six years’ experience writing digital content.

Three years’ experience writing digital content.

Experience writing for web (SEO copywriting with keywords, title tags and understanding of what shows up in the meta description).

Understanding of emerging criteria for LLM discoverability and AEO.

Experience using AI tools for content tasks while ensuring accuracy and human oversight.

Proven ability to write for both B2B and direct‑to‑consumer audiences.

Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required.

Additional Desired Experiences

Fintech/Financial Services industry.

Exposure to cross‑channel journey planning.

Experience working in an Agile or Kanban project management framework.

Understanding of content KPIs and measurement of web content performance.

Passion for reading, writing and editing educational content and feature articles.

Stellar communication and storytelling skills, including good spelling and grammar.

Team player with a solutions‑oriented mentality and an open, positive and collaborative communication style.

Excellent time management and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects under deadline pressures.

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is 75,000.00 – 130,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge. Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements

You must be 18 years or older.

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process.

You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
