How you'll make an impact

As a Director, Programmatic Sales this role will lead and scale a high-performing programmatic sales team. You will drive strategic revenue growth, develop and execute annual business plans, and expand key client relationships across SiriusXM Media's portfolio. You'll serve as a market-facing leader, shaping industry conversations around programmatic audio while partnering cross-functionally with product, marketing, and operations to innovate and optimize offerings. This is a highly visible leadership position focused on influencing strategy, guiding teams, and delivering impactful, data-driven results in a rapidly evolving digital advertising landscape.

What you'll do

  • Manage a team of high performing programmatic sellers, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Develop and execute an annual strategic business plan to drive programmatic sales revenue growth and expand existing SiriusXM Media client relationships.
  • Uncover core client business needs and challenges and communicate the value of partnering with SiriusXM Media to solve them.
  • Be a public facing voice in the market - appearing on panels, writing articles, participating in webinars with an end goal of advancing programmatic audio.
  • Participate in product roadmap build out discussions based on client needs with senior leadership, product, & operations.
  • Manage large-scale projects that increase the programmatic audio TAM and introduce the market to new programmatic offerings.
  • Lead high-level strategic client conversations alongside sales team.
  • Articulate and justify programmatic strategy to internal senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, and operations, to drive business growth and improve sales efficiency.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics to measure sales success and inform business decisions.
  • Build deep and lasting connections internally across SiriusXM departments and specialty functions.
  • Work closely with product, marketing and revenue teams to constantly optimize efforts relating to company-wide goals.

What you'll need

  • 10+ years of experience with 5+ years of management experience.
  • Experience in programmatic advertising sales, ad tech and digital media, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and leading teams.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing sales teams, with a strong ability to coach, mentor, and provide ongoing performance feedback.
  • Demonstrated success in driving team results, fostering a collaborative and accountable culture, and supporting individual growth and development.
  • Experience managing, pitch development, sales presentations, negotiations, closing deals, and getting wins.
  • In-depth knowledge of programmatic advertising, including demand-side platforms, supply-side platforms, and data management platforms.
  • Strong understanding of the digital media landscape, including key players, trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Experience with sales analytics, data analysis, audience targeting, and performance metrics, including the ability to interpret and communicate complex data insights both internally and externally.
  • Familiarity with sales automation tools, CRM systems, and other sales enablement technologies.
  • Ability to generate ideas and deliver results across diverse clients, teams, and situations.
  • Creative thinking to help guide product enhancements based on client feedback.
  • Experience with automation and/or AI tools such as chatGPT, Gemini, etc.
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Compensation

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $126,315 to $180,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives.
