Fire Protection Sales Representative
We are seeking an experienced Fire Protection Sales Representative to develop and manage new and existing business for fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and special hazard suppression systems. This role focuses on building long-term customer relationships, identifying project opportunities, and driving revenue across commercial, industrial, and specialty markets.
The ideal candidate understands the fire protection industry, can navigate contractors, end users, and AHJs, and is comfortable managing projects from opportunity identification through contract execution. Similar related-fields in construction, mechanical, plumbing, electrical will be considered with a strong sales background.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop new business opportunities for fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and suppression systems
Manage and grow relationships with GCs, ECs, facility managers, property managers, and end users
Identify bid opportunities, review plans/specs, and coordinate with estimating and operations teams
Prepare and present proposals, pricing, and scope of work
Conduct site visits and assist with pre-construction planning when needed
Track sales activity, pipeline, and forecasts using CRM tools
Collaborate with engineering, design, and project management teams to ensure accurate scopes and successful project delivery
Stay current on NFPA codes, local fire codes, and industry standards
Represent the company professionally at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings
Qualifications include:
3+ years of sales experience in fire protection, life safety, or related construction trades
Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and/or special hazard suppression
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Proven ability to develop new business and close deals
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently
Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed
Preferred experience includes:
NICET certification (any level) preferred but not required
Familiarity with wet, dry, pre-action, deluge systems, and clean agent or kitchen suppression
Experience selling service, inspection, and monitoring agreements
Existing industry relationships within the territory
