Electromechanical Technician

Location:

Los Angeles - 20 minutes from LAX
Engagement:

W2 - Contract to hire

Strativ are partnered with a high-growth venture backed defense technology company, who specialize in advanced sensing, detection and communication systems.

As a Electromechanical Technician you will be responsible for the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of digital, analog, and RF microelectronics products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microelectronics assembly and test.

Minimum Requirements
Professional Experience:

Proven experience as an Electromechanical Technician or in a closely related technical capacity.
Precision Assembly & Metrology:

Expertise in electromechanical assembly using precise manual torque tools and advanced measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
Tooling & Equipment Proficiency:

Demonstrated ability to operate mechanical hand tools, shop equipment, and electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems for complex component assembly and rework.
Materials & Process Operations:

Proficiency in processing metals, plastics, and composites, encompassing fastening, detailing, masking, sanding, chemical cleaning, bonding, and painting.
Electrical Testing & Fabrication:

Competency in conducting in-process electrical and mechanical checks, including continuity and isolation testing. Experience in wire harness fabrication and the application of basic electronic theory for circuit analysis and rework.
System Integration:

Proven track record of installing, assembling, and modifying electromechanical assemblies within both R&D development and high-volume production environments.
Microelectronics Expertise:

Advanced skill in microelectronics assembly, specifically regarding soldering, component placement, and rework techniques.
Diagnostic Capabilities:

Practical knowledge of electronic circuit hardware and embedded systems, with the ability to troubleshoot microelectronics using DMMs and oscilloscopes.
Technical Literacy:

Ability to interpret, validate, and suggest edits to complex technical drawings and schematics.
Safety & Compliance:

A solid understanding of industry-standard safety protocols and microelectronics manufacturing regulations.
Core Competencies:

Exceptional attention to detail, strong independent problem-solving skills, and the ability to maintain clear technical documentation and communication within a team.

Preferred Requirements
Education:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related discipline.
Programming & Automation:

Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python) utilized for automated testing or system diagnostics.
Advanced Manufacturing:

Proficiency in CNC machining, fabrication processes, and a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Logistics & Material Handling:

Experience operating material-handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, for loading and unloading operations.
Technical Design Tools:

Exposure to circuit simulation and analysis software.
Certifications:

Active IPC Certification (e.g., IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001).
Compliance:

U.S. Person status as defined by ITAR/EAR regulations.
