As the brand enters an exciting new phase of growth — including major retail expansion and continued omnichannel development — we are seeking a strategic, hands-on VP of Marketing to help lead the next chapter of the business.

Position Overview
We are looking for a highly collaborative, entrepreneurial marketing leader with experience across prestige beauty, professional haircare, and omnichannel retail. This individual will lead the marketing organization while also remaining deeply involved in strategy, creative direction, campaign execution, and performance analysis.
This role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate is both strategic and operational — someone comfortable leading strategy, writing briefs, collaborating with agencies, reviewing creative, analyzing campaign performance, and helping guide execution across all consumer touchpoints.
This role will work closely with company founders and cross-functional leadership teams to elevate the UNITE brand across DTC, social, retail, and professional channels.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the overall marketing organization, including:
Social Media / Influencer Marketing
Communications / PR
Creative / Graphic Design
Digital / Ecommerce Marketing
Lead integrated marketing strategy surrounding major prestige retail launches and omnichannel growth initiatives
Collaborate closely with external creative and media agencies to develop and execute integrated campaigns across:
Paid Media
Social
Ecommerce
Retail
Influencer
Brand Content
Help guide social-first storytelling and content strategy across platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Meta, YouTube, and emerging digital channels
Partner with agencies and internal teams to translate brand storytelling into high-performing digital campaigns, creator content, and paid media assets
Develop marketing briefs, presentations, launch strategies, and campaign plans
Help shape and elevate overall brand storytelling and creative direction
Analyze campaign performance and marketing effectiveness, using data to optimize strategy and execution
Ensure strong alignment across brand, sales, ecommerce, education, and operations teams
Lead marketing and promotional calendar development and execution across all channels
Support continued growth of UNITE’s DTC business while strengthening retail and professional partnerships

Ideal Candidate
8–15+ years of marketing experience within prestige beauty, professional haircare, or adjacent lifestyle categories
Experience working with brands sold through prestige beauty retailers such as Ulta strongly preferred
Strong understanding of omnichannel marketing, including DTC, social, influencer, retail, and brand marketing
Experience within founder-led or high-growth brands
Strong understanding of modern social media strategy, creator/influencer ecosystems, and short-form content platforms including TikTok and Instagram Reels
Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-moving environment
Strong creative instincts paired with analytical and organizational skills
Collaborative, humble, entrepreneurial mindset
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Comfortable balancing brand-building initiatives with performance-driven marketing strategies and measurable business results
Experience managing agencies and internal creative/marketing teams

Location
Remote role with preference for Southern California-based candidates. Limited travel required, including occasional visits to our Carlsbad, CA headquarters and studio.
