Purpose:
Lead the daily planning and execution of the

Point of View Radio Talk Show

, securing compelling guests and developing engaging, timely program content for a national broadcast.
Description:
Research and identify the best program content to further the mission of Point of View Ministries and find and schedule the best available guests to discuss those topics and issues.
Reports to the host and/or co-host of the talk show and coordinates with them on topics, issues, and guest preferences. Researches the best avenue to contact guests and actively works to schedule for the broadcast. Coordinates scheduling information with host, co-host and ministry staff.
The Talk Show Producer is required to be physically in the office, at minimum, from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday.
Responsibilities:
Research and identify potential topics and issues to cover on the program
Stay on top of current events and cultural trends to address on the program
Research possible guests to cover specific topics and discuss them with host and/or co-host
Obtain contact information for preferred guests and work to schedule them for an interview, focusing on in-studio appearances when possible
Maintain program calendar with appropriate information on all scheduled programming
Obtain guest bio, photo, book image, social media and other information necessary for web promotion of interview and provide to web designer
Obtain and provide to host and/or co-host needed show prep materials
Maintain database of contact information for guests and potential guests
Confirm guests for their interview 24 hours in advance
Host in-studio guests prior to broadcast
Follow up with guests after interview, provide information on availability of audio and video, instruct guest on usage of those resources
Provide feedback to host to improve quality of broadcast
Send copy of host Viewpoints commentary to potential guests mentioned in a commentary, leverage contact to schedule guests for broadcast
Screen calls for on-air comments
Maintain communication with host during broadcast and see to any needs that arise
Runs live video stream during broadcast
Experience & Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field, media, journalism, political science degree preferred
Good working knowledge of Christian culture, current events, politics, and theology
Skills:
Proven ability to work independently to meet deadlines in fast-paced environment
Attention to detail
Ability to focus on goals and remain persistent until goal is achieved
Innovative problem-solving mindset, able to think outside the box
Working knowledge of PC or Mac OS and Microsoft Word
Basic knowledge of Vimeo and YouTube
Must be tech savvy with ability to learn new computer skills as needed
