Lead Market Strategist
Join Aprio's Wealth Management team to help clients seize their opportunities. Aprio is an innovative, rapidly growing firm seeking a Lead Market Strategist to be a vital part of our dynamic team.
The Lead Market Strategist is a senior investment professional tasked with enhancing the Chief Investment Officer’s (CIO) effectiveness by managing market communication, engaging with advisors and CPAs, and conducting investment analysis across both public and private markets. This role takes ownership of continuous investment discussions, market updates, and initial diligence activities, allowing the CIO to concentrate on strategic decisions and portfolio construction.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong judgment, effective communication skills, and the ability to operate without a prescribed script. The Lead Market Strategist should feel confident discussing markets in real-time, navigating moments of market volatility, and effectively managing client concerns.
Position Responsibilities
Articulate the firm’s perspective on the economy, markets, and portfolios in conversations with advisors, CPAs, clients, and prospects, both in collaboration with and independently from the CIO.
Act as the primary contact for advisors on public and private market inquiries, portfolio issues, and client‑specific challenges.
Create near‑final CIO‑level economic outlooks, market updates, and investment presentations suitable for external audiences.
Enhance repeatable processes and technology‑driven workflows to improve the speed, quality, and scalability of investment communication and monitoring.
Simplify complex market and portfolio issues into clear, actionable communication for advisors to utilize in actual client discussions.
Provide insightful advice to the CIO concerning investment positioning and portfolio risks, presenting alternative viewpoints when necessary.
Conduct due diligence on private investments and provide updates for the CIO and investment committees.
Ensure the quality, accuracy, and timely availability of institutional‑grade investment content across advisor‑facing materials.
Qualifications
More than 10 years of active investment experience in institutional asset management, family office, or large RIA with a focus on market insights and portfolio communication.
In‑depth understanding of macroeconomic analysis, public markets, and portfolio construction, with the ability to provide actionable advice to advisors.
Outstanding communication skills, especially in client and advisor interactions during volatile market conditions.
Demonstrated ability to produce high‑quality written materials and presentations that are audience‑ready.
Experience in private investment evaluation, diligence, or ongoing monitoring, with the ability to assess liquidity, incentives, and risks.
CFA charter holder and/or MBA is preferred.
Strong proficiency with Bloomberg, FactSet, and modern AI tools to enhance output quality and efficiency.
Preferred Skills
Exhibits strong ownership, responsiveness, and professionalism.
Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.
Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and time management.
Considered an educator who communicates concisely.
Capable of being accountable without formal authority and influences through sound judgment rather than title.
Engages in constructive disagreements and values clarity and facts over consensus.
Builds scalable processes leveraging technology without compromising quality.
Salary Range: $200,000 - $225,000 annually. Actual salary may vary within the range based on experience and qualifications.
The application window is expected to close on July 1, 2026, but may be extended as necessary.
