As we expand our global footprint from Bermuda to the US and Japan, we seek a Vice President, Transactions, to architect our next phase of expansion and position us among the industry’s leading global reinsurers.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Head of Business Development and Strategy, the VP, Transactions will support the execution of the company’s growth initiatives by assisting in the origination, analysis, structuring, and execution of reinsurance transactions and strategic opportunities. This role will work closely with internal actuarial, legal, and finance teams, as well as external advisors, to help develop transaction pipelines and deliver successful client outcomes.
The VP will play a hands‑on role across the transaction lifecycle, from early‑stage client engagement and opportunity assessment through pricing, negotiation, and closing, while also contributing to strategic initiatives, process improvements, and market analysis.
The role will be based in Bermuda and is expected to operate out of Bermuda more than 75% of the time.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of reinsurance transactions, including block reinsurance and other strategic transactions, under the direction of the Head of Business Development and Strategy.
- Contribute to developing and maintaining a pipeline of potential transactions through market research, client outreach, and coordination with senior leadership.
- Represent the firm in client meetings and serve as a primary point of contact for cedants and counterparties during transaction processes.
- Coordinate transaction analysis, including data review, financial modeling, and due diligence, in collaboration with actuarial and finance teams.
- Lead pricing discussions and transaction structuring by preparing analyses and recommendations for senior leadership review.
- Help manage external advisors such as legal counsel, consultants, and other service providers involved in transaction execution.
- Prepare transaction materials, including internal approval memos, management presentations, and summaries for executive and board-level review.
- Monitor transaction progress and support and help manage governance, reporting, and documentation requirements.
- Support interactions with regulators and industry bodies, including preparing materials for regulatory approvals as needed.
- Contribute to the development of new reinsurance offerings, process enhancements, and operational improvements.
- Uphold organizational values and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Obtain and maintain any required licenses, certifications, or professional designations.
Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience in reinsurance, insurance, investment management, or financial services, with direct involvement in transaction execution or deal analysis.
- Experience supporting M&A, block reinsurance, or flow reinsurance transactions is strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of insurance liabilities, transaction structuring, and financial analysis.
- Strong analytical skills, including experience with financial modeling and data-driven decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and to work effectively as part of a transaction team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing materials for senior management.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to balance execution-focused responsibilities while contributing to longer-term strategic initiatives.
Compensation and Benefits
Prismic is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $215,000 - $295,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on various factors including geographic location, candidate experience and skills.
