About Onzie
Onzie is a women’s activewear brand founded in Venice Beach, CA, focused on conscious commerce and sustainable production.
Key Responsibilities (P&L Ownership & Business Performance)
- Own the ecommerce P&L end‑to‑end: revenue, gross margin, customer acquisition cost, contribution margin and cash flow
- Set monthly, quarterly and annual performance targets in partnership with the CEO
- Monitor KPIs daily and weekly, identifying trends and making data‑driven decisions quickly
- Report performance clearly and regularly to the CEO with full transparency on what is working and what is not
Growth Strategy & Customer Acquisition
- Develop and execute the customer acquisition strategy across paid (Meta, Google), email, organic and emerging channels
- Oversee paid media agencies, holding them accountable to ROAS targets and strategic alignment with the brand
- Lead email marketing strategy through Klaviyo, working in partnership with an external email agency currently in place — own the strategy, segmentation and performance accountability while the agency handles execution
- Drive new customer acquisition while maximizing lifetime value of the existing Onzie customer base
- Identify and test new growth levers — affiliate, influencer, community, TikTok Shop — and scale what works; TikTok Shop is an active channel managed in partnership with an external freelancer or agency
Site & Customer Experience
- Own the Shopify storefront: merchandising, conversion optimisation, site speed, mobile experience and UX
- Ensure the digital brand experience reflects Onzie’s identity — premium, purposeful and community‑driven
- Manage the product catalogue, collection structure, photography standards and on‑site storytelling
- Partner with the CEO and external creative vendors on asset briefing, trafficking and performance feedback — the ecommerce director owns creative deployment and performance, working alongside founder on creative direction
Agency & Vendor Management
- Manage all external agency and vendor relationships including paid media, social marketing and email — set briefs, review performance and hold partners accountable
- Evaluate agency performance against agreed KPI and recommend continued partnerships
- Source and onboard new vendors or partners as the business requires
Team Building
- Assess current resource gaps and build the case for internal hires as the business scales
- Recruit, onboard and lead ecommerce team members over time, including potential roles in operations, creative and growth
- Foster a culture of accountability, experimentation and continuous improvement
Who You Are
- 5+ years of ecommerce experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role with direct P&L responsibility
- A proven individual contributor — you have operated without a team and thrived; you are the person who gets it done
- Proven track record of growing a DTC brand — you have specific results you can point to
- Deep fluency in paid acquisition (Meta, Google), email marketing (Klaviyo or equivalent) and Shopify — hands‑on, not just oversight
- Equally comfortable in a spreadsheet and in a creative brief — you merge analytics and aesthetics without friction
- Entrepreneurial by nature: you move fast, make decisions with incomplete information and iterate without hesitation
- Comfortable managing and holding external agencies accountable to performance standards — they are your primary operating partners
- Experience in activewear, wellness, yoga or a values‑driven lifestyle brand is strongly preferred
- A genuine connection to yoga, mindful movement or conscious living — you understand this customer because you are this customer or know her well
- Exceptional communicator — direct, clear and comfortable presenting to a CEO
Compensation
Base salary: $130,000 – $150,000, commensurate with experience.
In addition to base salary, this role includes a performance bonus tied to revenue and growth targets. Bonus structure will be defined collaboratively with the CEO and aligned to the business plan for the year.
Why Onzie
- Direct line to the CEO — your work and decisions matter and are seen immediately
- A brand with genuine differentiation: a decade of community trust, a values‑driven identity and a product that stands behind its claims
- The chance to build something — not maintain it; the ecommerce business is early‑stage and the person in this role will shape what it becomes
- A product and mission you can believe in: conscious materials, ethical production and a community of movers
