Sports Monitor

As a thought‑leader and best‑in‑class provider in education, wellness, youth development, and community‑building, the YMCA of Metro Atlanta seeks a Sports Monitor to oversee and ensure the safe operation of sports programs across our facilities.
Responsibilities

Ensure the health, safety, and well‑being of children by actively supervising all activities.
Monitor sports practices, clinics, games, or open play sessions.
Set up, monitor, maintain, and secure all supplies, equipment, and buildings.
Ensure cleanliness and safety of facilities.
Report any problems to the supervisor.
Answer inquiries from participants, parents, volunteers, or other stakeholders and provide information or seek answers in a timely manner.
Open and close facilities on evenings, weekends, or as needed.
Implement the YMCA safety protocol related to branch and off‑site operations.
Respond to safety and emergency situations and maintain/reports accurate incident/accident forms.
Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
Must be able to independently get to the branch, gym, or fields for scheduled shifts.
High degree of interpersonal communication, conflict management, and customer service skills to tactfully enforce all rules and regulations.
Maintain certifications in CPR/AED, state‑approved First Aid, new staff orientation, branch orientation, and emergency procedures.
Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.
Ability to pass a pre‑employment background check, drug screening, motor vehicle record check, and reference check.
Legally eligible to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Physical and Ergonomic Requirements

The Employee may be required to stand, walk, run, sit, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Employee must be able to lift up to 60 pounds and may need to move large or heavy equipment (such as soccer/basketball goals, volleyball nets, and uniforms) up to 60 lbs. The position may involve being outdoors for long periods.
