Job Description
Takes direction from regular staff and leads a crew with varying experience levels to complete layouts in an efficient, timely manner correctly according to their drawing and written instructions. This is a hands on position that will direct the setting up and tearing down of equipment for events; cleaning the facility; maintaining equipment; cleaning and maintaining the facility grounds; parking operations. Specific duties may include but are not limited to directing and/or the actual set up of tables, chairs, risers, stage, basketball court, audio and other equipment; vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning and directing parking. May work any shift in various, including overnights and are able to work when full-time regular staff is not present. On occasion, may supervise small or simple events. Communicates clearly, fluent in English, effectively and tactfully, orally and in writing, including understanding and following instructions, procedures, etc. Must know emergency procedure in case of work accidents or other situations that may occur. Performs other related duties as assigned, including participation in emergency or disaster response activities, as required and consistent with the employee's qualifications, essential job functions, and applicable federal and Florida law.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of 10th grade, must be 18 years of age or older. Minimum six months experience in a special events setting related to tear-down and setup for events and experience in performing maintenance duties in a facility in which such events occur. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications for this position.

Familiarity with small power tools and equipment used in set-ups and tear-downs associated with events desired. Familiarity with electricity and plumbing concepts and maintenance is also desired. Knowledge of work hazards and applicable safety precautions associated with materials and equipment used in work performed. Ability to effectively serve in a lead capacity and work effectively with others (including the general public.) Ability to perform physical movements necessary for job assigned, i. e., bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, etc. Visual acuity with ability to identify colors, i. e., color coded electrical wiring, etc. Sufficient hearing to be able to identify levels of sound necessary for working with sound equipment. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
